general problems of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - part 2

The truck would take off on its own. The steering column would lock up, and the brakes would fail. The transmission is currently slipping an d these are just a few thing that are/have happened.

I was driving on the freeway, when the gears on the transmission started to idle. I was going about 65 miles per hr, when the vehicle would not move, even as a stepped on the gas pedal. I was able to put my hazard lights on and pulled over on the side shoulder of the freeway. I immediately put the vehicle in park mode. While in park mode the vehicle started to make a very loud screeching noise. I turned off the vehicle to see if this would troubleshoot the issue. I turned vehicle back on and the noise did not go away, I put the vehicle back into gear and it would not move, it started to shake and the vehicle jumped into which I believe would have been 3rd gear. I was able to drive the vehicle to my house at 5 miles per hr with the hazard lights on. My house was only 2 miles from the freeway exit. During the 2 mike drive to my house, the vehicle kept jumping into gears. This could have caused a major accident on the freeway. I need answers.

Driving down the road and transmission gave out.

6l80 transmission has the chevy shutter or slipping truck only has 60,000 miles not very optimistic that it will last till the 150,000 miles if it’s already acting up and I can hear metal slapping when shifting at various speeds and stopping speeds.

Intermittent rumbling and shaking . . . Feels like going over a rumble strip but it lasts for a little while and then repeats again after a little while.

The transmission has issues shifting into 3rd gear and then doesn't want to shift into 4th gear.

For no reason at approximately 57,000 miles vehicle developed a strong intermittent shudder at at low rpms on highway alignment seems has not corrected issue and vehicle has always had a concerning vibration I have been told is "normal" vehicle is on its second transmission and torque converter and the warranty just ran out and it seems like it wants to fall apart these issues have been ongoing and don't seem to be resolved by dealer.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated the electric power steering assist module was updated under NHTSA campaign number: 18v586000 (steering) however, while driving 55 mph two years later, the warning message “service power steering” illuminated. The contact continued to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring and the vehicle would lose power steering while parked. The contact stated that the stability tract control warning light and the 4-wheel drive warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness lid needed to be cleaned and the dialectic grease needed to be applied inside the connectors. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

The chevy silverado shakes around 65-70 mph and is continuing to worsen over the course of time. The original driveshaft may have been replaced by a dealer in the past (VIN shows zero recalls to a known failure caused by aluminum driveshafts), but they have been replaced with the exact same aluminum driveshafts. This never resolved the original failure, but only pushed the failure down the road temporarily, putting new buyers safety at risk.

The radiator is leaking and the transmission is making a clunking noise when shifted to reverse. The pickup has 48000 miles on it.

My 2015 silverado high country shakes at highway speeds. The dealer ship where I bought the truck keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the truck despite multiple road force balancing.

Transmission shudder after dealer repair of transmission temperature sensor dtc p0711 returned car to dealer and they flushed transmission but shudder still exists shudder at part throttle settings when depressing throttle.

The gear shifter was shifted into neutral and the rpm’s decreased. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer where the contact was informed that there was a failure due to the high altitude. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was not available.

Truck has 130k miles. Never used for towing or rough driving. Transmission is going bad. Reached out to gm and was told it’s our problem. We paid 43,000 for this vehicle and transmission issues already. We have a 1997 chevy silverado as well. With 321,000 miles on it and just had to replace the transmission. Engine is still running strong. For a vehicle to cost as much as our 2015 you would think the quality would better.

Fuel system is going bad have to replace fuel injectors at 90,000 miles. Keep a check engine light on and makeing cyl 6 misfire. Replace all of the spark plugs and wires and still not fix.

The truck was on street. Transmisionwould not engage in the. Second gear, or any gear. Turned car off. Started truck again same problem. Even in reverse. Truck was in lake arrowhead on mountain road by houses. Called flat bed tow truck. Towed back home to long beach. 200 miles!. The truck is in my drive way waiting for an transmission appointment. Strange drove around the block and had no problem. Even backed in to my driveway with no problem. So not trust truck now.

When driving truck on a busy road the warning sign of (service stabilitrak) pops up on dashboard and lights would flicker turning on and off as the truck would also seem to turn off and quickly back on regaining electric power. When reversing it started locking the steering wheel and the (service stabilitrak) warning sign would pop up. Truck was taken to dealership twice for recalls and they said problem was corrected and now it's there for the third time as we speak. When I parked in my driveway I was able to record the incident and video was sent to dealership mechanic. Last Sunday as I headed out to buy dinner, my vehicle seemed to be running fine. I noticed the dashboard lights flickered twice and that was it. When I was approximately 25 miles from my residence (service stabilitrak) warning popped on dashboard and truck completely turned off locking my brakes loosing complete control of the vehicle and it went on its own into a busy intersection going downhill. Steering wheel and brake was locked loosing all electrical and driving control. It would not turn, it would not do any changes. My truck ended up bumping into a sidewalk, I was terrified as I almost lost my life. Shaking in fear I tried to restart my truck and it did turn on. I went inside the shopping center parking lot, parked and called aaa so my vehicle could be towed to our nearest dealership. We had an appointment at the dealership for Tuesday due to negative reviews and they were going to look at our vehicle again. However, I never expected that I would almost loose my life. It's the third time it's been seen and I fear it will be the same scenario. I cannot put my family's life at risk. The truck is currently at the dealership being serviced. I will not be driving this vehicle unless I have been given proof that they fixed the issue. I have documentation for proof.

Slight engine cooling leak as described in service bulletin pl1513f.

When I purchased this vehicle I went to the dealership to complain about the transmission. When applying the gas, the car hesitated. I was told the car was "learning" and this was part of the computer system. Now that the warranty is off, it now needs a new transmission.

I purchased the silverado 2014 in July 2018 dealer ship in orangeburge SC. 3 months after driveing the truck I pulled to stop sign when pulled off the stearing wheel went left and my intentions was to go straight my luck was on my side that day. I finally fought the steering back straight and pulled over turned truck off then started back up and no probloms until later on started getting codes on the dash so I took to dealer ship closet one near me , they reboted the ecm and I told the service manger at that time I open the hood and showed him the wire that sometimes I go to start truck all it would do make a cliking noise open hood shake the big cable coming from the battery then truck would start, finaly summer arrives I start useing my air condition it finally went out took back too dealer they say needed new compressor I had warranty at the time replaced compressor after 2 week no a/c back 2nd time a/c issues they put die in compressor no leaks drive another 2 weeks same no a/c tack back to dealer then they tell me my waranty has run out and appears you have condinsor leaking refrigerant they wanted me to pay for I finally agreed to pay half and dealer pay half . Going back to about the second time I took the truck to the dealer when it was under warranty showed service manager cable that would cause truck not start until wiggled the wire. He told me that if that problom would have to change the ecm he said would cost alot of money when come 3rd time they refered to a dealership in rockinham nc. So they could do a electrical codes diagnostic after my warranty had out when I asked why dont yall have the machine hear after you seen me at dealership 7 times after took truck rockingjam nc. Dealer checked codes erased few and few weeks later get into crash going arond a SUV and cotton picker after starting go around SUV turns left I tryed to turn steering wheel back over to my drive lane I had no stearing crashed into SUV both total loss.

Often, when making low speed turns the entire engine and electrical system shuts off. There is no power steering when this happens and it's difficult and dangerous to try to coast to a safe spot to try to restart the vehicle. Generally, it starts back up again within a few minutes. In the three years that we've owned the vehicle, it has been to two different chevy dealerships more than once and both dealerships say there's no problem. It's frustrating that it seems to be a common issue yet there's no answer to the problem and no recall.

Me and over 100 people I know have had issues with the 6 speed transmissions in the 2014+ silverados. Mine currently is shifting hard. All of these vehicles are experiencing way too many issues before they should (less than 150k miles). Sometimes my transmission won't shift and leaves me going at an unsafe slow rate of speed in the middle of a busy highway.

Our 2015 Silverado 1500 has stuttering/ hesitation when accelerating, when turning on to a street you can not get up to speed quick enough it acts like there is something hold it back. We have replaced the spark plug and wire and all the coil packs. The voltage meter on the truck keep fluctuating so we replaced the alternator and the battery and that did nothing and kept fluctuating so we got another alternator and another and another and another. . So 5 alternators later and still no fix. But the hard shifting is the main concern. Because when you are driving trying to get into another lane the truck with just start hesitating and jerking until it launches into gear. 1st gear going into 2nd gear the truck will shift extremely hard and 2nd going into 3rd feels like you are galloping until it finally engages. The computer has been replaced and reprogrammed with all updates by and ase certified mechanic. Also did a transmission fluid flush and changed. No service light. Just baffled with all these complaints about transmission why nothing is down. It is a serious safety issue.

Rpms were rising above 6,000 without any power. Randomly while on highway, truck only had 112,000 miles on it and had to have a new transmission put in. And has had many other issues such as the lifters closing while on the highway and brake issues. The worst model truck ever made.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that at low tpeeds the transmission malfunctions at 5 to 20 mph. The vehicle would then stall out and the vehicle got sideswiped. There were no injuries or police reports or any major damages. The dealer had not been contacted yet. The contact tried to call the manufacturer but could not get through to speak to a live person. The contact researched on line and found there are issues with debries in the transmisdsion. The failure mileage was 46,300. Tf.

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that when driving approximately 25-35 mph when in third gear the vehicle would slowly lose power and slow down. The vehicle would shift into neutral and the vehicle would rev up to about 4000, however, the contact would be able to regain control and get back up to approximately 40-50 mph. The contact stated that once they were able to regain power the vehicle would shift back into neutral and the failure would occur again. The contact contacted the (lindsay Chevrolet located at 15605 jefferson davis hwy, woodbridge, va 22191 phone number: 703832-4837) who informed the contact that their failure related to NHTSA campaign number: 14v374000 (power train) however, their vehicle was previously repaired under the recall. The dealer, also, confirmed that the repair provided under the recall did not remedy the issue and referred the contact to NHTSA, as well as, the manufacturer for assistance to have the recall repair provided as a repair again. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet once the failure reoccured. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Gl.

Trucks shakes and vibrates at speeds over 65mph. Shakes are so bad it feels as though the wheels are coming loose. Tired have been rebalanced. Replaced. New rims. No solution.

When in motion harsh shifting between gears, sometimes so violent it feels like another car hit me. When accelerating the transmission seems to search for gears, and is sluggish for a high horsepower vehicle. Concerning when trying to accelerate in traffic, transmission hesitates and does not immediately apply power. Had transmission serviced 5 months ago due to shudder and shake between 20-35mph. Transmission fluid flush helped for a few months, but shudder is returning as well.

Air conditioning compressor busted and spilled oil and metal shards all over road. Condenser coil sprung a leak in 2019. Heavy vibrations in cabin when driving interstate speeds. Oil cooler lines leaking causing oil leaks and now I am noticing a leak on the radiator! leak on the inner drivers side axle seal.

Bad lifter causes engine failure at 100,006 miles. Engine had to be replaced. Transmission has extremely hard shifts from park to reverse, and slips between 5th and 6th. Doesn't throw any codes so dealer says it's fine. But it's obviously ruining itself. Reading all these transmissions complaints I can't believe it's not recalled.

The truck and transmission shift very hard, slip or can't find its home. The problem is the worst between park and reverse, and 1st and 2nd gear around 20mph. I have taken it in multiple times times and told everything is operating to spec. One time I was told they were waiting for guidance from gm, but then forgot about that, and said everything is fine.

A deafening buffeting noise and vibration makes it impossible to concentrate on the road. Radio won't drown out the noise. Ear aches, head aches etc. Please help!.

The transmission makes a clunking sound when I put it in drive or reverse gear, plus it slips between gears when I start to drive off and it hesitates to shift between gears.

Air conditioning not working. Blowing hot due to worn hole in hose (thousands of known issues all with exactly the same symptoms and fixes. . . E x a c t l y!!!!!!) called chev, the guy said NHTSA tells them what to pay for and what to recall so they're hands are clean of this issue. Pardon????? worn hole? check bad condenser? check no bracket? check dealership/manufacturer participation? no way in hell! this is absolutely terrible business and there's no way the attorney general, the better business bureau and anyone else I can call are not going to hear about this. Oh yeah, the a/c never gets used, otherwise I would've had it fixed 20k miles ago under warranty but I didn't know it wasn't working. There's residue on the hoses from the leak which the dealership should've caught but they didn't. Maybe I go that route?.

Fuel injectors causing cylinder misfire - this issue can be very hazardous to the safety of driver and others. First noticed on highway going straight. Then again next morning, vehicle would not start. The date occurred is not exact, but close.
