Engine light keeps returning after dealer visits for oil change. Exhaust heat shield rattles since day one of ownership. When all the brake settings are set to factory and I back out of my vehicle onto the main road in front of my driveway the vehicle will occasionally detect something and lock the vehicle in park with emergency brake engaged. I then have to put the vehicle in drive all this while oncoming traffic may or may not be oncoming. The brake engagement happens if the corn in the field is blowing the right way or shadows from the tress. I had this into the dealer and also contacted the manufacture. They both told me to turn off all the safety features so this wouldn't happen or do not back out of my driveway.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard and failed to stop as needed. No warning lights appeared on the instrument panel and the forward collision avoidance feature failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, the contact crashed into the another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact nor the passenger sought immediate medical attention; however, the other driver did state they would be seeking an x-ray. A police report was filed. Due to the accident, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The dealer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
