general problems of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - part 2

Lost all sound in the truck. No warning sounds , no turn signal sounds, no radio, no navigation sounds. I missed a notification of a wreck on the road in front of me that would have been audible if the trucks sound systems were working.

Truck is equipped with a power up/down tailgate. I was driving on a rainy day and stopped for gas. Upon putting the vehicle in park and shutting off the engine, the driver information center alerted with a dinging sound several times. Upon returning and starting the engine the information center alerted that the tailgate was open. I got out and checked and the tailgate was open. I closed the tailgate by manually lifting it. I believe this is a safety issue and the switching mechanism or sensor needs to be repaired or replaced.

While stopped at an intersection my truck lost all electrical power. A couple of seconds later the dash lights came on saying that the vehicle did not have any brakes or brake assist. Then while the vehicle was still in drive it started. Due to the brakes not working the vehicle jerked forward. I put the car in neutral. The light turned green and I was able to get out of intersection and then went to the side of the road. While driving this short distance the vehicle displayed that because the brakes were not working it would not go over 62 mph. Once I was able to stop I shut vehicle off. I waited a short time and restarted the vehicle. This appeared to fix the braking problem but the check engine light stayed on. Drove home with no further issues and called for service which will be 2/19/24. Mostly my concern is that the vehicle restarted while in drive with the vehicle having no brakes.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the auto start/stop feature. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the engine shut off and failed to restart upon releasing the brake pedal to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the auto start/stop system sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the dealer advised the contact to disengage the feature when driving. The contact followed the dealer's recommendation. The contact stated that on one occasion, she had forgot to disengage the feature before driving. The contact stated that while at the complete stop, the engine shut off and hesitated to restart. The message "brake system failure" was displayed, and the brakes became inoperable. The contact stated that she pumped the brake pedal but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact allowed the vehicle to roll from the complete stop and pulled into a gas station. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

The truck will intermittently stop making any and all sounds. No turn signal sound, no seat belt unbuckled alert, no radio sound. It remains that way until the truck is powered off and restarted. This includes all warning chimes and infotainment sound.

Several things have happened multiple times now. While driving on an interstate the truck suddenly lost power then from 70 mph dropped almost immediately to 30-35 which almost caused the vehicles behind me to slam into me. Another time the auto stop came on waiting at a red light then when the light turned green the truck threw all alerts on the dash and died. Now I was parking and the esc control light came on then the trailer braking light and now the vehicle lost all power all together. I am not able to start it or even lock it.

Vehicle has experienced repeated electrical and safety system failures since purchase in 2023. Affected systems include forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, cameras, and infotainment. Failures include complete loss of camera functionality (rear and front), infotainment system shutdowns or resets while driving, loss of audio, and volume malfunctioning (including sudden increases or no response). The vehicle has also generated false safety alerts, including forward collision warnings and blind spot alerts when no hazard was present. These issues have occurred while the vehicle was in operation, creating safety risks due to loss of visibility systems and unreliable warning alerts. In multiple instances, the system would become completely non-functional for extended periods, sometimes lasting days or weeks, before temporarily returning. The problem has been reported to a dealership multiple times and has been inspected and serviced. Repairs have included software updates and component-related work; however, the issues have continued to persist or reoccur. The failures are intermittent but recurring and have not been permanently resolved despite multiple repair attempts. The condition reduces driver confidence and creates unsafe operating conditions due to unreliable safety systems and loss of critical features while driving.

Multiple random electrical issues, including, but not limited 1) "service esc" warning activates causing the truck to have greatly reduced speed and power. Extremely dangerous at expressway speeds in heavy traffic. 2) electrical system & engine completely shuts down with no warning. Extremely dangerous for obvious reasons. Temporarily remedied by disconnecting/reconnecting battery, thus resetting the system. Problems have been confirmed by the dealer, bomnin Chevrolet- dadeland. Supposedly vehicle has been inspected by a gm "tac" technician. Vehicle has been and is currently in the possession of the dealer off & on approaching 2 months with no resolution.

Turn signal indicator on front passenger side has already failed and the vehicle has less than 4000 miles on it.

Gm infotainment center unreliable and comes on when it feels like causing a panic while you are driving. I have taken it to the dealer twice and was told it is a known issue with no help in sight. The truck has less than 2000 miles on it.

Gm infotainment system repeated intermittent malfunctions. Safety concern: repeatedly (~20%) while driving, the audio from the car radio will spike to full volume for about 5 seconds, then the infotainment system will reboot. This is very unsafe as it is startling to the driver, nearly resulting in multiple crashes. This is an issue reported by multiple owners, as evidenced by a simple google search of '2023 silverado volume spike'. Gm has refused to acknowledge this and has not issued a fix.

We purchased a new 2023 chevy silverado in approximately January 2023. The onset of the problems with the new truck was Friday, August 4, 2023. The engine light came on, skipping occurred when accelerating - powertrain issues. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and was jerking when shifting between the first and second gear. No warning lights were illuminated. Then after arriving home, the truck cut off and I attempted to re-start the car without success. Waited for some time to start the truck, but it would not start. Attempted to start again after several hours. Did not start until the next morning and was able to drive the vehicle to the chevy dealership service department, the service department kept the vehicle from August 4, 2023, to August 10, 2023. We were not provided with another vehicle, while they worked on mine. The second time occurred 10 days after picking the vehicle up from the service department. Monday, August 21, 2023, to present. Same issues with the truck continued. This issue has caused a major inconvenience. Not only are we still making payments on the vehicle. We have not been given a date of when the vehicle issue will be resolved. The parts needed are on back order. The truck has been in the dealership service department for 22 days as of 09/05/23.

I am filing this complaint against general motors (gm) and its affiliated dealership kunes Chevrolet for the unauthorized installation of a surveillance/tracking device (lojack) in my vehicle, which resulted in severe personal harm, digital exposure, and downstream targeting. On [xxx], I purchased a 2023 Chevrolet silverado from kunes Chevrolet in morrison, illinois. I was never informed that a lojack tracking device had been installed in the vehicle. On [xxx], I appeared in person at the same dealership to confront suspicious activity tied to my vehicle’s gps data. A service advisor confirmed the presence of a lojack unit and printed a removal ticket, which should be recorded in gm’s internal service system under my name and VIN. This constitutes verifiable, documented acknowledgment of the unauthorized installation. Consequences of this violation include: •illegal geolocation tracking without consent •suspected sale or exposure of my driving data to third parties and possible defense-linked contractors •multiple impersonation attempts, including suspected social and professional infiltration •psychological harm, loss of employment, opportunities, and repeated digital sabotage •multiple homicide attempts on my life •foia-confirmed military interest in my location (air force case #: [xxx]) •irs and identity manipulation, suggesting systemic misuse of my physical address, gps logs, and digital footprint information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph and towing a 4,000 pound travel trailer. The contact noticed that the turn signal warning was illuminated and indicated that the left turn signal was not functioning. The contact drove the vehicle to a small auto parts dealer to purchase a new signal bulb. The contact was changing the turn signal bulb and smelled a burning plastic odor and noticed that the harness that connected the trailer to the harness on the trailer hitch appeared to have melted. The contact stated that the connector had melted. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the trailer hitch connector and wires that went underneath the vehicle had melted as well. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

Started truck and dash lit up like a christmas tree service brakes trailer brake failure do not exceed 43 mph. Check engine light was on multiple other lights were on truck is currently at dealership and gm doesn’t have a fix for issue. Part that is needed is on national back order. Haven’t made first payment and truck is already in the shop and is not safe to drive due to this issue.
