36 Headlights problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

After driving in any type of moisture (rain, snow, sleet) the highbeam lights have condenstation covering most or all of the lens inside. This moistue will vary based on the miles driven and intensity of the snow or rain regardless if highway or city driving. It does appear worse with highway driving. Chevrolet says "this is normal and we will only replace headlight assembly if there is standing moisture. The highbeams are functioning as designed. " this moisture does inhibit the lumins or light coming from the highbeams.

37 Headlights problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 12/15/2015

My Chevrolet silverado has terrible headlights. They are not bright enough and do not light the road properly. If the low beams are adjusted higher the high beams no longer illuminate the road. The high and low beams are in a one piece assembly and cannot be adjusted independently. I live in a rural area with a high deer population and require good headlights. In my opinion the highs and lows should be independent and have much brighter bulbs.

38 Headlights problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 11/17/2015

Intensity and coverage of headlights is terrible. The high beams are dim and there is no side coverage to allow seeing the edge of the road. I went into the ditch when trying to avoid oncoming cars and nearly hit a jogger.

39 Headlights problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 10/26/2015

The factory headlights on the 2014 Chevrolet 1500 series pickup are a safety concern and hazard. The low beam setting is extremely dim and when the roads are wet or at dawn/dusk it feels that you are traveling with the parking lights on. The high beams project well, but disperse quickly. I have owned a 1987 GMC sierra, a 2000 Chevrolet 1500, and a 2002 GMC sierra all of which had perfect illumination systems. Gm outfitted the 2014 with a safety hazard. Most of my driving occurs in the arctic, which 6 months of the year is practically dark most of the day. I have almost hit 3 moose this month because I could not see the road ahead under high beam or low beam. I am upgrading my headlight assembly to the cost of $450. 00 because it is important to see on our remote roads in alaska. I love the truck in every other aspect, but the stock headlights are going to get someone killed. Thanks.

45 Headlights problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/15/2010

I purchased this vehicle new from classic Chevrolet in grapevine, TX in January 2010. The first few months I had the vehicle, I had no problems. Starting in March 2010 I noticed that my radio(navigation system) would sound like it would short out intermittently. I didn't really think anything of it. I thought that it had to be the radio station or interference with other wireless signals. I never really thought it would become a problem until recently. On 5/5/2012, I was traveling 70mph at night down the highway when, all of a sudden, my entire electrical system seemed like it was "resetting" itself multiple times. From door locks to instrument cluster, to navigation system, to even headlights, everything cycled more than 3 or 4 times in rapid succession. I was merely driving down the road, I hadn't just touched anything, I was just cruising along. After doing some research online, it is apparent that this is a common issue among this design of the silverado. Forum after forum has owners describing this same issue and more problems with the electrical system. It is a major safety concern that could end up killing someone. Headlights and running lights that turn off without cause? what if the airbag system is affected and it causes a premature airbag deployment while someone is traveling at a high rate of speed? this is not and isolated issue and the government needs to step in to force general motors to recall this vehicle along with any other vehicles with the same issue. It is my understanding that general motors may be aware of the issue because the 2011 and 2012 silverados have had design changes made to their electrical systems. (I read this in forums as well. ).

47 Headlights problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/21/2004

I own a 2000 Chevrolet silverado 1/2 ton pickup. The driver's side running front running light of the vehicle does not illuminate and has not worked consistently for two and half years. I have spoken to other owners of the same year Chevrolet pickup vehicle and they complain of the same problem.
