Two problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My vehicle has the recall issue described in the recall described in NHTSA campaign #: 05v379000 but because I live in colorado, they will not honor the recall. My vehicle antilock brakes malfunction at low speeds intermittently and the vehicle takes a longer distance to completely stop as described in the recall.
The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While approaching a stop, the abs activated and the vehicle began to swerve from right to left. The vehicle finally stopped approximately one vehicle length away. The contact removed the abs fuse and the vehicle stopped normally. The dealer was never notified regarding the failure. The current mileage was 105,000 and failure mileage was 94,000. Updated 12/12/07 updated.
