Automatic Transmission problems of the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph uphill, the transmission independently shifted down. The vehicle would not accelerate and then stalled. The contact parked the vehicle and proceeded to a auto parts store where he purchased circlip and installed it in the vehicle. He was then able to get the vehicle to shift into first and second gear. The dealer was notified and they stated he would need to replace the transmission or have it rebuilt at his expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not driven since the incident. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Driving 2001 chev 2500 (heavy duty) allison trans when started to vibrate. Took to shop and rear housing on tranny cracked all the way around. $1,200. 00 repair bill.
