My abs speed sensor got sheared by back of my front drivers side tire in which I have seen on multiple sights a defect that was deemed a recall for being poorly set up on the assembly line. Secondly, ive spent thousands and looking online for a vary serious issue ive been having with my vehicle due to intermediate stalling, backfiring, and vehicle dieing due to what has finally been found to be the infamous crankshaft sensor. Replaced my computer, all 02 sensors, egr valve exc. . . Than upon looking and researching, I find it was a major one on recall as well for failing all the time. I just feel if these are factory errors and been on the recall, and my woman who travels with me that is paralyzed due to an accident, I should be entitiled to the recalls giving they were known flaws on the asssembly line and a danger to others. When the vehicle stalls out, it starts choking, backfiring, and bucking and wants to lock up and loose control. Not cool. Ive been chasing this problem spending thousands in parts and repairs to make this truck safe for work and feel if there has been recalls for all this, would be nice to reap something out of my investment in this truck.

I want to add another case to your investigation of brake line failures on gm trucks. I live in maryland and have a 2002 chevy Silverado 2500hd with only 40,000 miles on it. My brake lines rusted through in three separate incidents this year. First, the front wheel speed sensors/abs system failed in April, 2010. Next, in July, the front part of the lines gave way when being backed out of the garage after getting an oil change. That garage replaced the front part of the brake lines only. Finally in September, the rear brake lines rusted through right in my driveway. Luckily, I was not traveling at speed for either of these events, but it was a major expense and inconvenience, especially having it happen twice like that. I also had the line on the power steering fluid cooler rust through in the April repair, and there is way more rust in general on the undercarriage than there should be. The body and engine are just fine. I hope your investigation leads to a recall.
My 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd was having a problem with the abs system activating at slow speeds when the wheels were not actually sliding. Although the wheels were acting exactly as described in recall bulletin 05068c, I was told by the dealer that my truck was not covered even if the problem was due to front wheel speed sensor corrosion as described in the recall. I also called the gm customer assistance center at 800-630-2438 where they also said my truck is not covered even though the VIN is within the brackets in the recall. I was given a case number of 71-774131746. I took my truck to larson Chevrolet in superior, WI on November 10, 2009 where they inspected my front wheels and found the corrosion described in the recall. I had them repair the corrosion at my expense. I then contacted customer assistance again and they agreed to forward my case to a district specialist. After a couple conversations with the district specialist isaac I was told that my truck would not be covered because 3/4 ton trucks were excluded. No reason for excluding 3/4 ton trucks was given. It seems to me that gm was in error when 3/4 ton trucks were excluded because my truck had the exact problem described in the recall. I would like to see the recall expanded to include 3/4 ton trucks and to have my expenses of $206. 47 reimbursed.
