1 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2010

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd four wheel drive that is not stopping properly at low speeds. The abs system is letting go at slow speeds causing the brakes to let go. This could be a very serious situation at a crosswalk with children. I reported the problem at the local dealer and they said it was a common occurance due to rust affecting the abs brake sensors. The cost of the sensors was 135. 00 each plus about three hors labour total close to $600. 00. I think this shoud be a recall issue as it is not cuased by wear.

2 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that when the brake was applied, the abs activated, causing the brake pedal to fade. The contact called the dealer who stated that defective brake sensors were the cause of the failure. The contact called the manufacturer and filed a complaint; he was informed that they would call him back and to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000 and the current mileage was approximately 22,000. Updated 12/23/lj updated 01/04/11.
