I noticed a puddle under truck on 4-5-2020. I took the truck to richardson Chevrolet in standish on 4-6-2020 for an oil change. They changed the oil and I was told my brake lines were leaking and all needed replacing with an estimate of $1,400. I am the original owner of the truck. It was out of winter conditions for 5 years as we lived out of state.

A year ago, I had to replace all of the major undercarriage lines after the transmission lines blew out. While having the transmission lines and brake lines replaced, I was told the fuel lines were split at the fire wall over the transmission and had to be replaced as well. It was @2k of an unexpected expense/upgrade.

Towing my 12000lb. 5th wheel on interstate 95 just south of palm coast FL. I puller over to check the brakes on the 5th wheel. The brake pedal went to the floor, because the brake line had rusted through. The truck has never been in an snow. Had to flat-bed truck to local chevy dealer. They replaced two lines. On may 1, 2014, the other remaining lines ruster through and the truck had to be towed to the dealer again. No warning, either time. Never had a brake line rust through. Truck only had 67,000 miles on it. Luckily, it didn't quit towing 12000 ibs. Down the expressway. . . Updated 06/26/14.

When applying the brakes the pedal went very close to the floor with very little stopping power, when I took the truck to the Chevrolet dealer they informed me a brake line had busted and the brake lines are rusted and all the brake lines have to be replaced at the sum of $1,400, this truck is used for a family vehicle and is not a work truck, I may be wrong but I feel 6 years is no way near the life expectancy of a safety system such as a brakes in this geographical area, I was told by the dealer that this was not uncommon.

My brake lines gave out, apparently they are all rusted and in bad shape. My vehicle had just finished an annual saftey inspection at a repair shop. Upon leaving the shop when I depressed the pedel to stop for a traffic light, the truck would not stop. The brake peded went all the way to the floor and the truck took approximately 3 - 4 times the normal distance to stop. There was no warning nor light indicating any issue with the brakes.

When operating vehicle in driveway, brake pedal suddenly went to the floor. Upon inspection it was found that a steel brake line toward the rear of vehicle had burst due to corrosion. In this case a complete loss of braking was noted resulting in a minor collision with a tree. No damage to the vehicle or driver. Since this truck is only approx. 5-6 years of age, it seems as though this is quite an early failure. Fortunately it failed in the driveway and not several minutes later when on the highway.
