In may of 2023, the truck developed a significant shake when driving on moderate road bumps. We took it to the dealer and they replaced the pitman arm and idler arm assembly for over $2200. Recently, the shake started again. We took it to a local mechanic who told us that the upper ball joints were completely worn out and had been for some time, certainly since before the visit to the dealer in may. We had the ball joints replaced, and it is still shaking. We will continue to try to diagnose the problem but now we feel like we cannot drive it because it is unsafe. I’ve seen online that chevy has a reputation of having this problem with our model (2019 silverado). I’m filing this report to let you know that we are experiencing this problem.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph when the vehicle began making screeching and clunking noise. The vehicle's instrument panel displayed going from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive. The contact stated that once they got to their destination and parked the vehicle when they attempted to drive the vehicle again it failed to move. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the front differential separated however it would be an extensive amount of time before the part would be available due to the part being on back order. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

I was driving down the road, the truck began to shake and bounce real bad. I took to the dealership we purchased the vehicle from and they said $3500 for a new front end to replace all the parts. This truck has never been wrecked or hit anything. This vehicle has 85000 miles on it and its supposed to be a diesel farm truck. It appears the front end was made with parts and material that is not in compliance with industry standards. I was told by the dealership mechanic that the front end could collapse going down the road and injure someone when it collapses. This is on the front end of the truck, the entire front suspension is inadequately equipped with components to maintain the structural integrity of the suspension system.

The Silverado 2500hd and I think 3500 work duty pickups some don't come with a stabilizer damper for steering my 2014 work truck with only 19k miles has a shake so bad you can't drive on the highway, I first noticed the shimmer at 2 yrs the deal did alignments and said they could not find what caused it, now I took the truck in for check engine on an O2 sensor they said catalytic converter went bad and it needed alignment so I said yes to the O2 sensor and alignment then I leave the check engine light pops on and when trying to drive over 35 mph the steering wheel violently shakes back and worth, I talked to a commercial tech he said the stabilizer always goes bad on these and so does all the youtube videos but some videos show that some trucks have a stabilizer and some don't, but do have the mounting holes.

Vehicle purchased new in November of 2021 and driven approximately 6,000 miles. Under windy conditions, particularly at highway speeds, the truck is nearly impossible to drive straight down the road and keep under control. It feels as if you're driving on ice and takes a lot of effort to get back under control. In addition, wind blasts from semi-trucks blow the truck all over the road. Other wind blasts such as those experienced when passing under an overpass or a clearing of woods or hilly terrain that allows for gusts of cross winds result in an equally frightening experience. This truck is a heavy duty 3/4-ton advertised for its towing ability. I have driven 3-4,000 miles (of the 6,000) towing a trailer. The truck steers and handles just as poorly while towing and results in an equally frightening experience I have had the truck at the dealership for over 20 days and although they acknowledge the problem, they have not been able to determine the cause of the problem. The dealership had a gm engineer inspect the truck and his opinion is that this type of handling is "a normal characteristic of the truck". I have attached a copy of the dealership report. I am very fearful that having this vehicle on the road is a serious hazard and will result in a serious accident. With possible injury and/or death. I have owned hundreds of vehicles, driven millions of miles in my life and have never experienced anything like this.
October 29,2020 I was traveling down a highway when I noticed traffic was stopped and when I went to apply my brakes the pedal went all the way to the floor and I had nothing not even a light came on to notify my of an issue. I also tried to apply the emergency brake and it snapped and at that point I had to leave the road way to avoid hitting any cars or anyone, and in doing so iwent towards a ditch and ramped a driveway. We have ;looked into the recalls and its the same parts we are having trouble with on this truck and why it caused me to wreck. Hydro boost system, and the emergency brake system. The codes that I pulled from the NHTSA. These all are whats has happened with my vehicle. 04v376000 05v161000 05v043000 if you need any additional info please let me know I have a video I tried to send from the homeowners security camera of the truck ramping his drive but it was too large to upload and I have to get another copy of the police report if you would like that.

4 rugged terrain t/a lt265/75r-16 purchased at odometer 91681. Tires rotated at 100955. Following happened while highway driving. On 8/19/2015, odometer 109831, vehicle vibrating, found bubble (tread separation) on left rear tire. Tire was replaced under warranty. On 8/4/2017, odometer 121840, vehicle vibrating, found bubble (tread separation) on right rear tire. Have not taken tire to dealer yet. Front tires seem to be "singing" with a "rhythm" (best I can explain). I'm having all checked out today. I don't trust these tires anymore.

Had a vibration problem with this 2015 Silverado 2500hd since new sept. 2015 at differing speeds, felt in the seat and center console. Vibration is on city streets, highways, all roads. Center console has a very noticeable shake to it. Vibration at times is moderate, at other times more severe. At 2500 miles brought to gwatney Chevrolet in jacksonville, ar. Three goodyear tires replaced, road forced balanced. At 11,000 miles brought to gwatney Chevrolet two more goodyear tires replaced, road forced balanced. In gwatney notes, it took nine tires to find two good tires to put on my truck. At 18,000 miles returned to gwatney Chevrolet, service manager stated the problem was the tires and I would have to pay a portion of the cost. My response was I shouldn't have to pay for a problem that the truck had since it was new. The service manager was hostile, argumentative and refused to do any more work on the truck. I complained to gm customer care, they wanted to give me $100 and close the case. I escalated my complaint to the gm executive level, they appear to be more accommodating, they stated they are going to have a gm technical assistance team look at my problem. Right now, I'm awaiting further response from gm.

My vehicle vibrates and shakes at varying speed but mostly between 60 and 75mph. I have been to dealership three times for diagnosis and tires replaced twice. The dealership tested the vehicle with sensors and can not isolate the vibration. I have only had vehicle a few months and question the safety of the vehicle. I wish I had researched the truck on the internet prior to purchase because the problem I am having is known and has a name "the chevy shake" I hope others will continue to report these concerns because Chevrolet needs to recognize they have a problem and address the issue without the runaround customers are being forced to endure. The vehicle issue needs a recall.
Vehicle shakes or vibrates at most speeds. The vibration is worst at 25-45 and 65mph+. It causes driver fatigue and nausea. Tires have been road forced balanced by dealer and drive shaft replaced in attempts to fix problem. No solution has been found by dealer. Dealer acknowledges the vibrations and says the vibration is normal operation for this vehicle leading me to believe that a recall should be issued.
My truck has a steering issue while under normal driving lots of play on steering with a serious shaking from steering wheel and steering column moves when u push it up or down or side to side also when driving under normal conditions truck is shaking alot and bottom out with a humming sound from front end closer to left and right tire now when braking under normal driving to a complete stop I feel like I been hit from the rear of my truck . My truck has 51000 miles and I been trying to have my truck fix several times with chevy corporate and no outcome with the dealers thery provided quoted therefore we do not repair desiel trucks and I have no desiel tech . . . Please help me fix my truck. .
I have had a complete brake job because all of the lines rusted out and failed as I was driving. Fortunately, I was able to use the emergency brake to stop safely. I spent rough. Y $3,000 to get this repaired. Now the fuel lines, fuel cooler and everything attached has rusted out to the point that it is going to be an additiona $2,500 to repair this. Also, the complete under carriage and rear end has rusted to the point that I am expecting it to fail at any time. This is not only a dangerous situation, but is extremely costly to the consumer, me. When the brakes failed, I was driving on a street approaching a busy intersection. With no warning at all, the pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes. The repair facility mechanic said he has never seen a system so bad. I keep the vehicle in a garage and have washed the under carriage in the winter to keep road salt from accumulating.

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 chevy Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, without warning, the vehicle felt like it was not in gear. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the u-joints needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was picked up and towed by the dealer where the vehicle was purchased and diagnosed that the transfer case needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however the failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 91,708. Ed.
Entire frame of the truck is rusting away. Some areas is surface rust after the undercoating has just slow peaked away. There is some areas that the rust is so bad I am worried that it will soon or later give and break. I have looked into this online and there is thousands and thousands of compalints out there but gm is not doing anything about this issue. . I finally got a notice after 7 years of complaining about my transmission lines leaking at the crimp. . This is a very well know issue on many of the gm vehicles and has caused many accidents in the past. I would like to seen gm forced to pressed to do something about this because it is a safety factor that could cause a bad accient.

Frame of truck rusting.
I had to apply my brakes becauce of a sudden stop. When I did my abs brakes worked for a second when no more brakes. Had to swerve ,to not hit car in front of me. When I stopped I was two feet past that cars right rear fender. When I looked under my truck there was brake fluid leaking from brake line above frame at drivers door. This could have been alot worse. I heard this is no the only time this has happened with this make and model of vehicle.
While towing a 30 ft 5th wheel trailer the frame vibrates for a period of time between 55 to 65 mph. Feels like a drive shaft u joint failure as it seems to be progressively worsening over several recent trips, but may be due to road conditions. Not predictable between acceleration or deceleration, just starts to vibrate. Can be severe enough to be startling at times. Possibly NHTSA #10021013 reference #3009. Have not found remedy listed anywhere.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that every two years, the pittman arm would prematurely fracture. The part had already been replaced more than three times. The part had to be replaced a fourth time by an independent mechanic who stated that the parts were oem. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer issued 16 tsbs on the steering, three recalls on the steering, and 27 tsbs on the suspension. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The failure mileage was not available.
While towing a 5th wheel trailer at 60 mph, the right rear (passenger) wheel came off the truck. Five of the eight wheel studs sheared off, three others lost their lug nuts. The trailer weight did not exceed the axle, wheel or tire weight ratings.

Body and under body rust and rot to include frame, brake lines and shock mounts. Brake lines failed while I was driving, thankfully at slow speeds and was able to activate the emergency brake.
The vehicle exhibits unstable characteristics when driven unloaded on a "washboarded road",with tires at recommended air pressures.
- the contact has a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd pickup with an odometer reading of 11500 miles. While driving kat 30 mph and faster if the vehicle came in contact with a rough or uneven patch of road the front end started to bounce up and down, and became hard to control. The contact took the vehicle to mayhew Chevrolet, and they found that the truck had a tire tread deviation which was a possible reason for the failure. The consumer stated the rear of the vehicle looses contact with the road. Updated 01/29/07.
