1 Body problem of the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 05/15/2026

I purchased a brand-new Chevrolet dually truck from bomnin Chevrolet dadeland in miami, florida. Since delivery, the vehicle has had serious unresolved defects and safety concerns. The truck has ongoing alignment issues that the dealership has been unable or unwilling to properly repair. The vehicle does not drive correctly and there are concerns regarding safe operation while hauling. In addition, a major issue has now developed involving the rear passenger door. The rear door does not properly close and latch securely. This creates a serious safety concern because the door may open unexpectedly while driving. I brought these issues to the dealership under warranty, but the problems remain unresolved. I was also informed that the dealership could not properly perform the alignment on the dually truck. This vehicle was sold new and should not have these defects. I am filing this complaint due to concerns about vehicle safety, defective components, and inability to obtain proper warranty repairs.

2 Body problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 04/24/2026

Water entered tailgate through drainage hole in tailgate cap. The water then dripped on the tailgate switch causing it to short out. This short circuit caused my tailgate to open and close randomly without pressing any switches or buttons or key fobs. May tailgate has a small ding it it now from where it kept hitting the wall while parked in the garage. I took the truck to the dealership to get repairs done and was charged 308. 88 for the tailgate switch and diagnosis that should have been under a recall for this truck. Safety recall n232426400 tailgate may open unexpectedly issued may 2024. I called the customer service number [xxx] to try and get reimbursed for the repairs and they told me there is no recall on my truck. I had this problem and it clearly states the year, make and model of my truck in the recall, but because my VIN wasn't included I'm out of luck? I will attach all the info I have on this matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The tailgate spontaneously unlatches without operator input while driving or parked. The dealer thinks it is caused by moisture in the latch gate switch. 10 Body problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 05/26/2024

#n232426400-safety recall - tailgate may open unexpectedly lists rpo code qt5 as the only applicable rpo code for the issue of tailgate opening unexpectedly. Qt5 is for manual gate function with ez lift, power lock release. The recall blames water intrusion into these vehicles’ tailgates that can come into contact with the electronic gate-release switch, potentially causing a short circuit, which may inadvertently unlatch and open the tailgate when in park. The correction is to replace the exterior touchpad switch assembly with part number 85734717. My vehicle has rpo code qt6, which is for power up/down gate function with power lock and release. That option uses the same exterior touchpad switch assembly with part number 85734717. My vehicle did exhibit the same problem of opening unexpectedly while in park. That exterior touchpad switch eventually stopped opening or closing the tailgate altogether, and occasionally the tailgate would get stuck in the closed position while a dash message would say it is open. When it was immobilized in the closed position neither the exterior switch, the interior switch, or the key fob would make the tailgate open. It's my opinion that my vehicle experienced the same root problem as is described in the recall with the exterior switch assembly short circuiting, and that rpo code qt6 units should be included in the recall.

11 Body problem of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 03/02/2024

The vehicle was involved in a single vehicle roll over crash. The sheet metal of the roof pealed down and away from the frame of the vehicle. The windshield separated from the metal at the top portion of the windshield. The metal then began to separate from underneath the weld along the sides of the roof. The metal was then rolled inward into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The metal pinned the front passenger seat back down and to the right against the passenger side b-pillar. Both a-pillars did not sustain any structural damage as the result of the crash.

12 Body problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 01/12/2020

Water leaking into the vehicle from the onstar/xm antenna. Gm issues a TSB for the issue in 2017. Will not warranty the necessary repairs after the initial bumper to bumper coverage. Turned a corner got a lap full of water, luckily I wasn't in heavy traffic. Headliner and carpet are wet, probably the electronics as well. Not sure how long it has been leaking just noticed it.

Takata recall: there is a recall for 2014-15 silverado (recal # 14v301000). I am having the exact same issues. I have had the truck about a year, 2nd owner, bought it at 30k miles. On Nov. 25 I came out to start my start my truck and I immediately couldn't power up stereo and then I noticed I have no door chime for open door, no chime for key in ignition and no chime for my seatbelt. My turn signal indicator no longer lets me know when it is on. My key fob will not operate keyless start. I believe my vehicle could easily be included in recall. I'm sure there werent many because most dealerships are not giving any signs that they have dealt with this issue. I have all good fuses in both boxes too. The 1 dealership jumped right to replacing stereo for a $1000. Now I just dont have that kind of money nor can I afford to be coming in and out of dealership trying to figure this out. Somebody knows what it is and their not sharing that info. Can you help mefigure out what to do next. I have no audible indicator letting me know door is open while key is in ignition and audible indicator letting me know if seatbelt is buckled and I am a over the road carrier and spend alot of time in my truck. Thank you.
