I was driving down the interstate and check engine light came on, digital dash stated "power reduced" + "exhaust filter requires cleaning", and speed dropped to no more than 45mph. = = after a few minutes, operation was back to normal. = = this issue has continued and seems to be getting worse whether pulling a trailer or not; flat or hills makes no difference. = = took the chevy dealer in terre haute, in (spent hundreds of dollars) and local dealer in clinton twp. , mi and they could not correct this dangerous performance issue. = = this problem should be a recall as I've it will cost me approx. $3000 to correct this "exhaust filter" problem / issue (which is really caused by the federal congress mandating through legislation about nothing they know about). . .

37 Other Fuel System problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 02/02/2010

While driving home around 10 pm with small children; my truck started to surge, became difficult to control, and the gages did not register anything ( all at 0). This road was in the middle of nowhere and outside a bad area, so I called my husband to come follow me home and I drove home slowly all the while enduring a chugging motion. What is normally a 20 minute trip became an hour and a half trip. When I got home and shut the truck off my husband looked at it thinking that the fuel injectors could be the problem since they had just been recalled and replaced. The truck would not start when he went to restart it and the dash said 'unknown driver". Through some research we discovered it is a faulty passlock system. We went through the recommendations and it was fixed. This occured again today August 18, 2011 while driving and I now can not start my vehicle or have it towed because it can not be put on a truck because everything is locked up tight and can not be unlocked. We changed the batteries in the key fobs to no avail. The windows are stuck open and it is rainy season here. They lights come on and the information center keeps says 'unknown driver. " I am now afraid to drive my truck for fear that the next time I will not be able to control it. I have an 18 year old that drives my truck to college and I live in great fear that he will not be able to control the vehicle if it does the same thing whild driving it.

I own a 2001 chevy Silverado 3500 extended cab 8' bed 4x4 and have had the brake lines rust out to where the brakes failed and the fuel lines rust to the point of leaking. I am having to completely replace both sets of lines. Have there been any other complaints as to this issue?.

39 Other Fuel System problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 07/25/2008

A 2001 Chevrolet pickup in 2002-new. I have 32,000 miles on it. It keeps cutting out and red lights and even driving on the expressway. I took it in and they want me to pay for it. It is virtually new. They said the part comes with a lifetime warranty: and this one does not. They claim the recall was for the diesel pickup only??.

40 Other Fuel System problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 09/27/2006

Gm had a injector problem (recall ) in 2006. They replaced mine on sept,27 2006. On may 21 20013 I had the same problem in which gm conveys they can't fix it again. The mileage on may, 21 was 84362, just about how long the others lasted. I was told from my local gm dealer that they are several other owners with this same problem (thousands). I just wated to pass my grief along to let someone else know how you are treated by one of the companies that we bailed out with our monies.

41 Other Fuel System problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 09/01/2006

2006 duramax lbz. From new truck intermittently has code p003a - turbocharger boost control position not learned, p0087 low fuel pressure and change fuel filter display on dash. Truck is totally stock. First couple of times when at dealer they would do diagnostics and change fuel filter saying that was it and they would reset all codes. No drivability issues when this happened. Recently (August 5, 2014) while traveling pulling a trailer truck went into derate/limp mode (first time) all codes returned. Took to dealer, changed fuel filter and reset codes now it is happening about weekly October 1, 2014 took to dealer reset codes did not change filter as it was just done and they did not find anything wrong with fuel. (miles 94000) dealership said everything checks normal and Chevrolet does not show and bulletins for this issue.
