The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, the contact heard an abnormal, thud-like noise emitted from the vehicle. The contact pulled into an independent tire shop and inspected the tires. The contact found no defect with the tires and chose to proceed with driving the vehicle. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the front passenger-side tire detached from the vehicle without warning. Due to the failure, the vehicle crashed into a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and the contact sought medical attention for pain in her back. 4 Wheel problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 07/04/2018

Hello I purchased a brand new 2016 Chevrolet silverado k3500 ltz dually from (xxxx) in lakeville, mn Feb 2017 I had approximately 25k miles on it and I had noticed the front tires were starting to feather and making a strange noise and the tread stared to chunk off. So I brought it in to the above dealer and they get michelin to cover 30% for a new set of front tires which still cost me approx. $700. 00. Well 6 months later I have 21k miles on the new tires and they are starting to do the same thing I brought the truck in to the dealer two weeks ago to have them assess the situation and have yet to hear back from them. So one week ago today I called gm directly and they told me they would call back with in two business days and or no later than Friday. Well Friday has passed I do not know what to do I use this truck to make my living and I am very concerned about safety and the pre mature wear on the trucks front end components. There is a strange vibration in the front end and it pulls to one side or the other on the freeway the dealer has aligned the front end with no results.

5 Wheel problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 05/22/2016

I have had 2 wheels crack at the valve stem area within the last 2 months. This causes the tire presure to drop to a dangerously low amount ( 20-30 psi). I felt the truck pulling to the right when the first wheel cracked and pulled over before anything blew. The second wheel was noticed when I was at a horse show. It was down to 22 psi. I put 75 psi in it and made it home (5 hours) and it had dropped to 65. This crack causes slow leak and it is not detectable until the tires are very low.

Chevrolet dealer is offering replacement at a cost to the owner of $1220. 00. 7 Wheel problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Failure Date: 04/01/2008

Defective spindle rods caused premature and excessive tire wear. All four tires are worn bald on the outer edge of each tire. I have always rotated the tires faithfully every 6,000 miles. Purchased the 2008 chev. Impala new. I understand that gm has replaced the defective spindle rods on law enforcement vehs; but gm refuses to fix the problem on public vehs. Under warranty. I am asking the NHTSA for help. Thank you.
