Vehicle began having trouble with acceleration and jerking when stopped in July 2019. Took vehicle to a shop where it was suggested I replace the battery and the oxygen sensors. Both were replaced. Vehicle still continues to jerk and not properly accelerate. Vehicle drives smooth so long as their is a full tank of gas and its going a steady at least 40 mph. When the gas gets below half tank, the vehicle will continue with the jerking and accelerating issue. Vehicle also has to be restarted numerous times after gas is put in.

2015 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback ltz- fuel filler tube leaking at tank connection, causing gas to spill out on ground. Could be a potential a fire/explosion hazzard. Discovered when check engine light was activated. Ran an odbii code check indicating a p0442 error "emission system leak-small". Observed gas flowing to the ground as the car was being filled with gas. Had the car less than 1-week after purchasing "used" with 19k miles.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic. The contact stated while starting the ignition, a strong odor of fuel emitted inside of the vehicle. In addition, the entire fuel leaked out of the fuel tank onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. There was a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 13v464000 (fuel system, gasoline). However, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was currently being diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 3,080.
