The thermostat housing and water pump keeps failing and leaking. The seat heaters dont work. The car started leaking antifreeze real bad which cause it to overheat and lock up. Yes it has been confirm by a dealer that alot of the chevys been coming for new thermostat housing and water pumps. No vehicle was only inspected by a dealer. The overheating like came on and then 10 seconds later the car locked up.

I have had this vehicle for three years now and no matter of the repairs I had done to it by machanics the check engind light continue to turn on and the vehicle has shut down on the road and I can't find out what the solution is. I am afraid to drive it. Also the mylink radio which has all the vehicle settings in it has malfunctioned. I cannot get to reset veichle settings. Vehicle will not turn over on the first key turn. The engine turns over on the third or forth turn and when it dose there is a loud ratteling noise.

Was driving in heavy rain when car suddenly cut power and decelerated showed code 84 and the cel came back with p2138. It is a known issue that rain gets up into the connector and causes a malfunction.

Stalls when reduced speed. Cel constant. Codes indicate emission promlem. Cleared by replacing intake valve. Cel came back on.

We have had to deal with severe overheating issues and failing parts our entire ownership of this vehicle, both of which then cause other parts to fail, as the parts are so poorly made and heat sensitive. We have replaced the turbocharger (twice), intake manifold + valve cover (twice), catalytic converter, the radiator (three times), the cooling fan (twice), the maf sensor (twice), and much more. All of this has been done over the course of 18months. This has easily been the most expensive car we have ever owned due to the constant repairs, all of which has been because of failing parts and overheating.

Car has problems starting after gas is put in it u have to step on gas peddle several times to get it to start car does not have working backup camera in it or even a working radio in it car has a check engine light on I took it to were I ought it twice they cleared codes out of car but codes come back on all the time I would like to exchange this vehicle if possible can u help me manns performance vidalia GA 30474 is were it was purchased 6/01/2023 this has been a issue since I got from dealership crack in window after having it two weeks even with windows cracked sitting in the yard.

My cars coolant is leaking and the source is unknown. My car has overheated twice and my mechanic has been unable to find what needs to be repaired. The coolant has need to to be filled twice within a 6 month period. Now my car is having other issues with the catalyst system that lead me to believe the coolant leak might be affecting these other parts. My catalytic converter was already replaced and the same code has popped up 4 months later.

Overall and to the best of my knowledge, the malfunctioning and failures on my vehicle were the suspension and engine. They are the culprits and it’s honestly very scary and traumatizing to have them completely fail, especially since no one is ever prepared for accidents and/or potential death to happen. Otherwise it wouldn’t be called an accident. With the suspension overall, it’s just awful. Cv axel, control arms, everything with the suspension just failed. With driving over the tiniest bump on the road you feel your is about to literally fall apart at any minute because of the clunking and metal in metal noises it produces. The engine is faulty as well and I am pretty sure the faulty engine happens due to the faulty suspension. When I look under my car there’s something leaking. I don’t know what it is, but it’s poses a safety risk not only for the driver and the passengers, but also to the rest of the world. I know that there was a recall early on about fuel tank breakage or something that could lead to fire ignition. But my vehicle according to my VIN wasn’t on this recall. I have contacted the dealership and a certified service center to inspect these issues. It’s been roughly 4 weeks now and they have been extremely negligent and apathetic. With these issues, everyone’s safety is at risk. My suspension went out and could’ve caused a more catastrophic accident. A fire could’ve broken out with other vehicles surrounding me cause major injuries and death. I’ve seen and read many posts and testimonials and threads online from various independent resources that state very very closely the same issues. Almost verbatim. I’ve been trying to get these issues inspected by the dealership, but they all give me the runaround and don’t want to fix not find a solution. The check engine light has always been on since I’ve owen the vehicle and the dealership where I purchased this vehicle said having the check engine light on is okay. I need help getting repairs done!.

2013 Chevrolet Sonic 1. 8 l , fuel system lean ,mass airflow sensor, in limp mode preventing acceleration, gas tank when added gas. . . . Shuts down after start up-fuel system/gasoline; may cause possible fuel leak and could combust, alarm system and locks don't properly function - electric system equipment, insufficient welds. . . Around fuel tank and front of vehicle on bottom by driver's side could also cause combustion, bcm codes that came up were communication, electrical, fuel, windows, and airbags! autozone codes were po171 and co561-77,I looked up recalls , several came up for my make and model but weren't specific to my VIN# however my vehicle is doing everything pertaining to them! and I looked up if there was any special coverage on it and said there is. . . Before 120k miles or ten years time. And I was never notified of it & never received anything in the mail . . .

3 times yesterday - September 1, 2022, my car locks unlocked then locked again and the engine stalled. Dash lights did not go off, but the car died 3 times in a matter of 10 minutes.

Dashboard speed indicator dimming and getting brighter for no reason. No warning lamps. Check engine lamp turned on then after fueling vehicle engine won't start, or won't shut off. Vehicle is an automatic transmission. A button must be engaged to put vehicle in park, drive, etc. The button often sticks and keys cannot be removed because the transmission won't go in to park . On July 17 the button popped out while driving. This could have stranded myself or my family. The cause of the issue is unknown, but drivers may become distracted when the end of the automatic gear shift lever pops out or as in my case when putting the vehicle into park it pops out and breaks off entirely. I believe it to be a defective part that can easily break. My vehicle has less than 70,000 miles. It has not been assessed by an insurance agent or dealership yet.

Purchased this vehicle in February 2022 with 105,000 miles. Oil sticker indicated recent oil change and oil color was light and clear. The day after purchase the check engine light came on. Diagnostic scan indicated bad thermostat assembly and 2 oil sensors needed replacement. Radiator fluid was low. Ac didn't cool. Repairs completed almost $900. The check engine light came on again the next day. The check engine and check oil lights/alarms need to be actual gauges. The vehicle overheated 3 times due to low coolant and faulty fan sensor fuse. Where is all the coolant going? a leaky hose was replaced but it didn't fix the coolant leak. Of course the car will easily overheat so I keep coolant with me to avoid being disabled during rush hour traffic on the interstate in 105 degree temperatures. The engine continues to run hot and the check engine light stays on. The oil light/alarm is something new that started last Monday after driving 20 miles to yukon, ok. No warning of any problem until I exited onto the service road to wait for a green light. The oil alarm/light turned off upon acceleration but returned again when the idle rpm went below 1000. Repairs were estimated at over $2200 for a new oil pump. I requested an engine flush and oil change instead since an oil pump could not be located. The oil filter was found to have collapsed but a new oil filter did not fix the low oil pressure at idle. So many defects with this vehicle!!! what the heck???? odometer reading today is 107,364. It seems chevy has manufactured a car that will barely make it past 100,000 miles and repair parts aren't available? something isn't right with this picture. This car isn't safe to drive. Vehicle shows p0420 code (bad catalytic converter) at relatively low miles 92,000 miles on a 2015 model with a 1. 8l engine.

The has as well as mileage is not accurate and it constantly changes even while not driving which is adding more miles to car than actually is and you will never know how much gas you have in car truly which is safety concern especially if you are driving on interstate and can’t tell how much gas you have in car and suddenly run out of gas while other are behind you going 70 mph which can cause a wreck.

Catalytic converter failed at 110,000 miles. Same exact catalytic converter recalled for 2013 and 2014 Sonic models, for some reason not covered by the recall for 2015 models.

Check engine light came on, code is coming up emission fuel leak. Tried replacing gas cap, did not work. When getting gas, the car will not turn back on, you have to pump the gas pedal to get it to come back on. Idles high and jumps after turning back on.

Lights come on after driving about 12 miles, the engine looses power bad , when you let up on gas foot it takes very long to get it going slow to build up power. Regular roadway, no hills . Lights go out when parked a while then come back on after 12 miles.

The car started sputtering every time I had to put gas in it then it wouldn't crank at all and we have been able to detremine that this fuel system issue has created an inability to keep the car running and every time we get it running it repeatedly cuts off till we rev it up multiple times and then it tries to cut off every time we stop at a light.

The fuel system is running weak, for a car with only 30000 miles, one owner and full maintenance, the engine light came and go all the time and everything was checking.

I purchased my car about a year a half ago and it has been giving me non stop engine and leak issues. I have a 2015 chevy Sonic turbo and so far I have taken it to the mechanic 8 times to fix coolant leaks, fix my fuel thermostat as well as replace a head gasket after having it blow.

Began over heating at short distances. A/c went cool ran hot air tried to see if freon just needed refilling but even using alomst a full can still nothing. Having fuel issues big difference weeks apart fuel issues. Then over heating, next unable to hold coolant, car was returned to dealer for repair. Still unable to keep coolant from leaking, while driving on interstate I 95 out of no where I loose the ability of speed then shuttering running hot again blew head gasket lost power hard to gain control and was almost hit 2 times by car behind and on side. Car had to be pushed to shoulder and picked up with wrecker service. Mechanic had to come to car bc it wouldn't stsrt. He said the gasket is gone. Car will not do anything now. Will get receipts from dealer servicing, wrecker, auto zone mult coolant purchases, mechanic.

Car hesitated to start after getting gas. When it does finally start it sputters and have to rev motor some to make it stop. Idles high. After get started and start to drive it it's ok, but when stopped at a light it idles higher. I have had the purge valve replaced, but it's still doing it.

Evap purge solenoid stuck open causing car to stall out while driving down the highway- streets. If stopped at a light or had to slow down it would cause the car to stall in mid intersection and put myself and family in danger of getting into an accident. Windshield washer unit stopped working causing my windshield to impair my visibility not once but twice now. Dash lights keep dimming sometimes when I start the car and sometimes while im driving down the road causing it hard to tell the speed and fuel level but doesnt do it all the time it comes and goes.

Emissions (evap) code. Losing power, feels as if engine is slipping/dragging when accelerating. Engine light blinks & traction control light only when reaching high rpms.

The Sonic now runs very spotty, poor acceleration, and slow bumpy idle. Prior ball joint was replaced and the cv axil , entire engine replaced. Believe it or not, water pump replaced. These repairs, with receipts, constitute a lemon law breach. I should be entitled to a new car or compensated. Yes, the suspension issue did happen while I was driving, as well as the engine. Will upload documents soon. Oh, one last thing, very difficult removing key from ignition, been going on 4 months.

I purchased this vehicle used in 2016 from a car dealership. A couple of months ago my key would not come out of the ignition and I had to wait a few mins then try again. Next time it did that it took 30 mins to remove the key until finally the last time it would not come out period and I had no choice but to leave the vehicle and have it towed to the shop. I had to replace a part of the shifter. There was a metal piece right under the shifter knob that failed. I had aul insurance vintage now and had to pay 500,000 dollars for this repair because he stated that it was not covered. Personally I don't believe that but I had no choice and paid to have it fixed. I took the vehicle prior to the shifter visit to the dealershil twice with a complaint of not getting enough power when I excelerate and it moves slowly and is at 10-25 mph before it moves to the highway speed of 55mph. They again said they could not find anything. Again today I experience the slow exceleration again, so I am making a complaint this time. There is a electrical problem with this vehicle I 've had a couple of electrical issues as well as a replaced water pump. I got this in 2016 it should not have these many problems with this vehicle. I am always stopped at a light in the turning left lane getting on the highway when this happen and other cars have almost hit me several times. I wantit to be investigated and known before I go back to the dealership again and to be told thatthere s nothing wrong. I see the dashboard lights dim quite a lot while I am driving. And when it stall like this the power lights get really dim but you can still see your mph etc. Please help me something is wrong with this vehicle and I don't want to die in it.

I've realized and noticed in my vehicle; that some things aren't electronic set correct. My air bag light for passenger; does not turn on when I have a passenger. Some days it will be on and other times it will not. My screen glitches here and there and not working correctly even with touch. A few buttons on the steering will are not as well working for some reason. My fuel gage for miles changes and not set up correctly with pump. It will show 280 when full the. Move up maybe 15 minutes later then back down. Not like it was when I first purchase my vehicle.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking fuel, which caused the vehicle to sputter and smell like fuel. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 96,000.

Engine light stays on. Engine randoms shuts off. Car wont start after filling car up. T/c comes on randomly and car starts shaking. Lights of car dim when you accelerate.

Chevy Sonic 42,000 miles 1 1/2 years old had to replace evap solenoid that regulates air and fuel. $513 mostly labor gm will not cover any cost at all. Does not stand behind their vehicles. 1st time and last time I ever buy a chevy!!!!!!.

Automatically stops.

When the car is first started and turned off, the horn goes off each time. If parked but still running, the horn goes off every 2-3 minutes. When locking the car, it doesn't make any noise indicating it has been locked. When phone is plugged in, the music doesn't always work properly. There is a piece to one of the hoses that broke and is now making car run lean. When idling (at a red light or stop sign) the engine shakes vigorously and is harder to get back speed. When car is running and the hood is open, there is a hissing sound.
