The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal with a high pitched, squeaking noise coming from the vehicle. When coming out of a stop (red light, stop sign, etc. ,) the car will not accelerate. I have to pull off to side and shut the car off, wait a minute, and start it again. Only then will it drive. It does not do this all the time. However, when it does, it does it multiple times in a short time frame. It has done this occasionally since I got the car in 2017. My sister also owns a 2014 Chevrolet Spark and hers does this as well.

For the second time in a couple months, while turning left across traffic the vehicle lost the ability to accelerate. I was able to get off the road and cut the car off and restarted it and the problem went away. I have researched the subject online and it appears a lot of people have a similar issue with this vehicle and no one seems to know a solution. After the first time it happened we took the vehicle to the dealer and they could not find an issue.

My check engine light came on while driving and went off after one day. It came on again 3 days later while driving, and at one point I was not able to accelerate from a stop. A mechanic has diagnosed the error code as p0871 and alerted me to gm bulletin pip5521 which states my entire transmission must be replaced, despite the car only having 56,000 miles on it. This is a known issue by gm which presents a safety hazard and this car should be recalled. My car is slightly out of warranty and I'm attempting to get gm to fix it under a good will warranty.

The jug that holds my antifreeze developed a hole right where the hose connects to it and antifreeze was dripping onto a belt. My car would make a screeching sound and hesitate while I was driving. I replaced the belt but then other stuff started going wrong. The engine revs up while I am driving and the car will hesitate each time this happens, it usually happens several times in a few seconds then drives fine for a short while. No pattern, just happens randomly. This has been going on for a couple of months. On 08/07/1019 I was driving 320 miles to copperas cove, TX from lubbock,TX . After driving about 100 miles my car studdered real bad and I lost all power as I turned a corner. Then the check engine light came on. I stepped on the gas to the floor and my car would barley move. I managed to get to a gas station where I had to wait for a tow back to lubbock. Something about the device that puts oxygen into the gas as it goes into the engine is not working properly. I found several complaints about the same experience online. I only have about 54000 miles on my car. My alarm goes off 99% of the time if I lock my car, and my windshield wiper fluid does not dispense.

After start up the engine light is flashing and the traction control light is on. This is followed by a clunk. After a min or so has passed the lights go away. If you go in reverse after this has occurred, switching the gears, there will be a clunk. As you change the gears to drive the car will no go more than a certain mile per hour. Around 20.

This is particularly dangerous when I'm on the highway and the car suddenly forces itself to go slower and won't accelerate beyond 25-30 mph.

We purchased a 2017 chevy Spark with 40,000 miles on it and within the first two weeks the car will not accelerate for about 2 seconds and then will leap forward. When you come to a complete stop the engine will rev up and not go forward for about 2-3 seconds. This becomes very un safe since you can not depend on this vehicle to go forward when needed. I have taken it back to the dealer and they said there was an software upload to the transmission that should help. It did not help and I have researched that this is pretty common with these cvt transmissions. I will take it in again this week for them to possibly change out transmission. The complaints that are on this vehicle are the same having to do with acceleration problems. Gm needs to look at this issue as a recall to help save lives.

Bearing initially went at apprx 40k miles. . Replacing same bearing at over $440 out of pocket (1) yr later as exceeded the 12k miles warranty. Service at dealership states "bearings are not meant to last". . I have never had to replace a bearing in any vehicle, ever. To have my bearing fail ear year is a problem.

They replaced the transmission under warranty at 70,000 miles. Car had been exhibiting slow acceleration, stuttering, hesitation and jumping during rolling stops or take off. This had been going on for 2 years or better.

107,000 hwy/city miles. Catastrophic failure of the 2014 Chevrolet Spark's cvt control module and transmission. Dealership inspection revealed; permanently frozen actuators and control valves which cause the vehicle to stall, with engine running, on mild inclines, on ramps, off ramps, in heavy traffic,and stop lights. Very little time between the onset of mechanical - electrical malfunctions which include bucking, slippage and loss of momentum, before the amber "check engine light" deploys. By that time, it's too late. . As stated earlier, loss of momentum on fast-paced interstates and heavy flow traffic lights, placed myself and passengers in unwarranted danger.

The traction control light, stability light and check engine light came on while driving on a city street. According to the dealership it is having random misfires. The dealership is wanting me to pay around $350 to have the carbon cleaned out but they can't guarantee that will fix it. They said my warranty doesn't cover it. Then I asked if I go that route and it doesn't fix it, what the next step is. They said to take the engine out and clean it by hand, roughly $1000, and the warranty doesn't cover that either. I am not satisfied with their response and after reading pages and pages of the same issue in forums and no one mentioning they had to go through these steps has lead me to believe it is only putting a bandaid on the issue. I didn't buy the extended warranty just to have to dole out hundreds if not thousands.

Clutch wore out on 2016 Chevrolet Spark LS in less than 11,000 miles (just over 1 year old). I am an experienced manual transmission driver who has driven other cars to over 125,000 miles without needing a new clutch. Clearly defective clutch but they wouldn't cover it under warranty because it was a "wear item". No, it was a defective item. Don't buy Chevrolet since they don't stand by their vehicles and you will pay huge repair costs for their defects/problems.

While driving at 30 mph, the contact noticed that when stopped at a traffic light and started to accelerate the vehicle began to make a loud high pitch sound. I have registered complaints regarding this vehicle before. The transmission in this vehicle does not work properly; it is unable to accelerate properly from a low speed or stopped position. I have had the transmission replaced 3 times, but the issue has not been resolved. On August 19, I was involved in an accident as a direct result of the car's inability to accelerate into traffic.

While trying to accelerate from stopped position car will hesitate and stall out. Check engine light came on. Took to dealership and had 1400 misfire codes in history. Has been back to dealership 5 more times and cannot duplicate concern. Now while driving down the highway car has lost acceleration and stalled out a total 4 times in 85 miles. This is a huge safety concern for me. I've been lucky so far to avoid being hit but I shouldn't be playing russian roulette when I'm driving a vehicle with less than 30k miles on it. I've had the car since 12/2016 and it's been a complete nightmare. Gm needs to recall all these cars before a class action lawsuit against them is filed. I'm paying for a car that I am scared to death literally, to die!!!.

On two occasions there has been a sudden loss of acceleration. This happened after making a stop at a stop sign/traffic light at a main highway intersection. The rpm's went up but there was no acceleration at all (I was just barely coasting maybe 3 mph)! once I was at a safe place to pull off the road, I put the car in park, turned the car off and back on and the acceleration was fine. This almost caused an accident each time. The dealership said, because there were no codes given when they checked the vehicle and no service bulletins posted, there was nothing they could do. This is a very dangerous malfunction and I hope that someone takes the initiative to investigate the issue before a serious accident happens!.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Spark. Within six months of owning the vehicle, the independent dealer did not mention that there had been three recalls on the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for three manufacturer recalls. Prior to the repairs, there were no failures. After the repairs, there was an antifreeze leak, an oil leak, and the gears were slow to change over. The dealer was notified of the failures. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who indicated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed to determine the failure. The contact reported to the manufacturer that failures progressed after the dealer supposedly completed three recall repairs. The contact was waiting for the manufacturer to provide a permanent repair solution to the dealer. The contact had been waiting for longer than two weeks for a solution from the dealer and the manufacturer. The failure mileage was not available.

12 trips to dealership, 70 days in shop, 5 dealerships, 3 states. The car cannot accelerate to safe speeds from a complete stop. Our ramps are metered and the car just won't go, have to have the car shimmy before it will go and the foot all the way down to the floor. Gm states that this is normal. It's worse when the ac or heater was on, gm recommendation is to not drive with ac or heater on as it makes the car seem like it's under a heavy load. Also smell emits from vent that is making people sick. Took to fire station as the symptoms present like carbon monoxide. Dealerships have confirmed it's some sort of chemical but they don't know what it is. Doesn't matter if car is being driven or running while sitting still. Fire department said no CO so now looking at having it tested at a air quality lab.

Traction control light came on after starting car which the weather wasn't a factor at all, dry warm day, but the transmission gear did not. Car wouldn't move. Turned car off and restarted, got gear notification back but the transmission wouldn't go in gear. Car has 8,000 miles on it. Finally car moved but wouldn't go past 10 mph. Onstar states 3 different codes popped up and to take car in within 7 days. Had to have car towed because the car wouldn't go into gear at all. Called chevy customer service and they said this is the first time they have heard of this happening and the open recall is for rough shifting which I had an apt set up for Feb. 22, 2016 to get the open recall fixed. Car was not able to be driven and was towed to dealership. Not for what my car is doing. After car moved, the check engine light finally came on but has a different code than the previous two codes. Onstar said that code has to do with the transmission and emissions. A new car shouldn't have these kind of issues especially 6 months of buying the vehicle new.

While driving on the freeway my car suddenly lost all acceleration power. It ran 5k rpms to go 55 mph and the traction control light was on and the engine malfunction light was blinking. This has been an ongoing problem for a week and the dealership cannot figure out how to fix it. Sometimes the lights stay on and sometimes they go off even though I continue to have loss of acceleration and ridiculously high rpms to travel 35-55mph.
