Front Air Bag problems of the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban

Two problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2004

While driving at 25-30 mph consumer's vehicle was involved in a frontal collision with another vehicle. Upon impact, neither frontal air bag deployed. Driver sustained head injuries, and was transported to local hospital. Manufacturer was contacted.

2 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/27/1997

Had to apply brakes after going 50-55mph on ice. Vehicle hit guardrail head on & spun around & rear hit guardrail. Upon impact, neither air bags deployed. Driver's seat belt did not restrain. Vehicle's front pushed back into tires. Vehicle towed.
