One problem related to mechanical jack has been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was parked in garage on flat surface, consumer used scissor type jack for first time to change a tire. After jacking vehicle up just enough so tire cleared the ground, consumer turned around to grab the new tire, jack bend and vehicle dropped.
