1 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2005

: the contact stated the right exterior housing material of the headlight was filled with rain water and debris. The moisture caused the halogen bulb to blow out which exposed the electrodes and shorted out the lighting circuit. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where they were unable to determine how the rain water filled the housing. There were no visible cracks. The dealer replaced the entire right front headlight assembly, including new housing material.

4 Headlights problem

We have a ongoing problem with the headlights dimming or flickering at night. We have had it into the dealer for repairs 3 time for this problem. They have been unable to verify the problem, due to the fact that they are checking it in the daytime, but did report to us upon pickup of the vehicle on last visit, that they have 3-4 other surburbans in their dealership with the same reported problem. Gm is aware of the problem, but as of yet has not located the problem or have a solution for repair. This is a serious safty issue when driving at night, other may think that you are flashing you lights at them or have an emergancy, or the light may have total failure in the future. Obvously, a serious electrical problem. No cause or cure as of yet. Another electrical problem that we are experiencing is that on 3 seperate occasions the radio has remained on after the vehicle has been turned off and key removed. (2 or more hours each occasion) only temporary turn off was when operating the window button, but radio came back on as soon as window button was released. Occasional problem, very annoying, perhaps connected to headlight electrical problem or not? very conserned that there may be a serious electrical problem!.

5 Headlights problem
