Body problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban

Three problems related to body have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2004

I had a flat tire. When I went to change it, the spare tire hoist with lowers the spare was inoperable and would not lower the spare. Had to take truck to dealer. I was told by dealer that the mechanism to lower the spare had rusted and had seized and had to be replaced, which ii did and paid for. Imagine being in an isolated area with foul weather and not being able to change your tire because you could not access the spare. I believe this to be a significant safety issue. I did complain to dealer without success or satisfaction . The car was obviously stationary at he time the event.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2004

Rear glass hatch hinge separation from glass, passenger side. Vehicle was passed to me after my father passed. Unknown when the hinge separated from glass. This is a safety issue for obvious reasons.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2003

We have taken our 2000 Suburban in 9 times to get the water leak problem fixed at asheville Chevrolet. The moisture causes headaches in my 9 yr old son. We don't know what all might be growing in the carpet. We bought new carpet the last time and were told the problem was solved. 2 weeks later (the first rain) and we have a wet carpet again and our son has another headache.
