Fuel Injection problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban

Three problems related to fuel injection have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2004

2000 Chevrolet Suburban. Truck refused to start-would finally start, then stall immediately. Took several tries to get truck running. Took to dealer-$800 to install new fuel pump. 2 weeks later, same problem. Back to dealer, new fuel filter (second in two months) and fuel injection cleaning. I researched internet and found that there is a problem with fuel pump. Confronted dealership who then admitted that there is a problem with fuel pump--and that they have to replace 2 - 3 per week.

2 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2002

Total loss of engine power and steering control and braking while at highway speed was caused by fuel control module shorted out and ecm-b fuse blown. Fortunately, my wife was able to steer the vehicle off the highway safely, but she and two passengers were terrified.

3 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2001

Strong fuel smell detected, fuel injector and regulator leaking large amount of fuel on top of engine.
