Seven problems related to power window have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2000 Chevrolet Suburban k1500 LS. Power window regulator failure. Left rear became inoperative Jan 07. . . Repaired with regulator/motor assembly by dealer. Was not given the option of separate regulator as stated in service bulletin. Right rear inoperative Aug 07. In both cases, the motor still operative. The cables disconnected from the motor assembly. This would seem to be a factory/manufacturer defect in the clips/fasteners to the motor assembly. Windows would not stay up and had to be temporarily secured up with tape to provide some safety/security until repair could be made.
Rear power windows fail to work consistently. Will work if you bang by the speaker grills. Replaced a few months after purchase and started again. 65,000 miles. Was told gm has changed the configuration of the motor but I would have to pay for the new ones.
Rear power windows failed in up position.
Rear window motors fail in the up position. Windows cannot be operated.
Rear window first two motors went out, and now the third went out. Also, all 4 window motors broke, windows would not go up or down, took to dealer. All four window motors failed and were replaced one month after the vehicle was purchased. One of those replaced failed again.
Intermittently rear windows are inoperable. Dealer has replaced power window regulator.
Power window motor has gone bad twice on this vehicle. Both of the rear seat passengers' windows wer affected by this problem. GMC has not been contacted at this time.
