1 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2025

The contact owns a 1999 n/a Chevrolet Suburban 1500. The vehicle was inspected, and the contact was informed that there was an open recall associated with the VIN. The contact was provided the information for NHTSA campaign number: 00v122000 (seat belts). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who refused to complete the recall repairs. The contact was informed that the part for the recall repair was no longer being manufactured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the part was no longer manufactured. No additional assistance was provided; however, the contact was informed that the recall would remain open. The contact had not experienced a failure.

2 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2009

Driver side seat belt and passenger side seat belt in my 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. The seat belts are made in the seat. Both seat belts locked and are stuck in the seat. Chevrolet is telling me to buy two new seats valued at $500. 00+ per seat. Even though it is a factory defect.

3 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2003

Re 2000 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4. Vehicle has steering difficulties (vehicle can completely change lanes within 2 lines on the road, loose steering at times, steering wheel jumps when turning curves) which were reported to dealer several times. Dealer blamed tires which were not recalled. The jump/pop in steering when rounding curves was said to be due to lack of lubrication upon construction of vehicle-somewhat improved. Steering column still moves (feels loose at times) and feels as though will disconnect or tire rod will break when this happens while driving. At 43,000 miles front end differential had to be repaired, just over every 20,000 miles brake disc seems to need replaced. Vehicle does not go completely into park or gear and sometimes pops out (thought to need linkage adjustment, but vehicle has cable so cannot be adjusted according to repair person). Sometimes (fairly frequently) seat belts still do not completely buckle, they will pop out at various times if they buckle at all(not only with children, but with adults). Vehicle seems very loose to drive and we frequently feel as though we don't have control of our vehicle when driving (intermittently). We feel very unsafe in the vehicle.

4 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2003

Vehicle not only has steering, linkage, seat belt, and brake problems as reported, but also accelerator sticks. Was repaired last in the fall of 2002, but as soon as temperature outside got to 60 fahrenheit the petal began to stick again. When you do get pedal to depress vehicle jumps forward rapidly. Does all the time when weather is warm.

5 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2000

Plastic part of seatbelts when connecting the retractor broke. Dealership is aware of problem.
