Three problems related to front seat belt buckle assembly have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rear left shoulder belt after being pulled tight will release again. Being repaired at this time. On other two back belt buckles, female part is too large, so child seat cannot be used. Dealer found no solution for this problem so far.
Ratchet for locking seatbelt in rear for carseats wouldn't stay tight at pinot needed for carseat and have had three rear windoe failures in 6 months of ownership.
When placing child safety seat in driver rear seat seatbelt will unlock from locking mode as soon consumer tightens it. Also, both rear center seat female parts of buckle is too large to accomodate css.
