Three problems related to steering linkages have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Popping noise coming from front, always hear this noise when turning ,left or right. Noise started when vehicle had about 38,000 miles on it and has progressively gotten worse.
Continued intermittent popping noise with steering, loss control twice, involved in accident 04/22/00, popping was evident prior to accident but not reported because the Suburban was new and we thought it was the wear in of a bracket, lemon law procedure filed and arbitration tentatively scheduled for 01/29/01. Gm's position is the popping and steering problems are directly related to the accident. Our position is evidenced by the fact that nt. Pt Chevrolet advised us to begin lemon law and invoices detailing warranty repair and internal charges for repairs to the linkages. , the accident damage was only cosmetic with no compromise to the frame or engine. The popping noise has now become a rattling noise and rattling vibration in the steering column not necessarily resultant of turning.
The acceletator is to close to the brake pedal.
