Four problems related to seats have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was on my way to work on 1/25/2013. Coming through an intersection I was struck on the drivers side by an 18 wheeler. I woke up in the hospital almost a month later. Pictures of my vehicle show that my airbags did not deploy. Good thing I had my seat belt on. Md say the bruising to heart other internal injuries would would have been prevented had airbags deployed.
I have a 2001 chevy Suburban 1500 while going over a speed bump at the speed of 20mph the lumbar support in my driver's seat "popped". We heard a very loud exploding sound and at the same time I felt a extreme pressure and pain in my lower back. . . I now have lower back pain a day later.
I own a 2001 chevy Suburban 1500, the middle row bench seat is a 70/30 split. The bottom ( part you sit on) of the larger side (behind drivers seat to middle of vehicle) will not stay latched or "locked" into place. I contacted gm and they said that since my Suburban has more than 100,000 miles on it they are not responsible for any issues or defects. Very frustrating! this is a total safety concern, specially since I have four children who ride in this truck!.
Driver's side, second row seat does not hold any brand/style child safety seat. Dealer's service center has confirmed this problem, denies any defect.
