Three problems related to rear seat belt have been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
They had to replace the rear 3rd row seat belt retractor. It was broken when purchased.
3rd row seat belts tighten as driving causing discomfort to children who then have to release the seat belt to re-fasten in order to maintain comfort. This is a safety hazard.
The rear left and center safety belt latch plate were designed improperly. The consumer was unable to properly tighten the belt, when he tried to secure a child.
