Four problems related to speedometer/odometer failure have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2007

We have a 2003 Suburban and the speedometer is failing to tell the correct speed it is going. This is an extreme safety issue that should be recalled by gm, I have always bought chevy/gm products but will reconsider when I trade in due to the lack of safety recalls when needed.

2 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2007

Speedometer failed intermittently for a period of about six months then stopped working all together. I am told by dealer and other Suburban owners that this is a common occurrence.

3 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2006

Speedodometer on my 2003 Chevrolet Suburban is failing. I have inquired the dealer about a recall, repair, without success. I have read that the speed odometer has been failing for many gm owners but gm will not recall the defective odometer.

4 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2005

: the contact stated the speedometer and tachometer stopped working without prior warning. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer. Although the dealer did not inspect or repair the vehicle the mechanic determined the speedometer cluster gear failed and would need to be replaced. Updated 01/25/06.
