When scheduling for airbag recall repair the dealership has informed me that the service may cause the dash to crack or fall in during or after the install. They also advised me that this damage is not covered under the recall warranty. If the dash is not intact that will result in the airbag not being able to properly deploy.

The first issue was the dashboard craking in numerous spots and chevy did finaly replace the entire dash. The next issue was the paint on the "white exterior" begain chipping off in large 4-7 inch parts all over the SUV. The dealer forced me to pay half or the partial repaint . 1000. :( takata recall is the latest. I wonder how America can be great again with this level of quality. So sad.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2015

Safe lite auto glass placed polyeurethane glue on the rear window auto defroster metal contact to the rear window of my chevy 2007 lt Suburban. I hit the remote starter and allowed the car to run for 9 minutes, the vehicle will auto shut off after 10 minutes. My daughter smelled smoke in the car so I inserted my ignition key and I rolled down the windows. I then backed my car out of the garage, pulled out of the driveway and my rear window exploded into pieces of glass everywhere. I called the police, filed a police report, filed a claim with my insurance company (geico, ref claim # : 0501768800101053) where the claims adjuster found that the metal contact did cause a chemical reaction with the polyurethane glue as the cause.

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

Just using the door handle to get into my Suburban on the passenger side like any reasonable person, not roughly or bearing weight, and the plastic handle broke and pulled out on one end. Same breakage occurred with rear door as well when one of my children was opening the door. Made the folks at our local Chevrolet service shop aware while having my oil changed and they quoted a price ~$245. No offer to help covering any part and this was while my full warranty was still active. The folks that work there are kind and helpful. What I am trying to convey is that I don't think they were being rude, it was just not something they were approved to cover. I couldn't believe that such a luxury vehicle would have plastic handles that broke off so easily and that for the quality and reputation the company doesn't want their product to look like a luxury product. People will be seen driving a vehicle with their name on it and the door handles are hanging off. It worries me to consider what safety issues could arise if someone were not able to get inside the car in an emergent situation.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2009

We have a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban ltz. We paid extra for an automatic rear lift gate, which you can open with your key remote,. Last week the automatic gate started malfunctioning. The gates lifts up a few feet then slams back down. Luckily our small child did not get under the lift gate or I am afraid she would have been severely injured by the rear gate slamming closed. We were told by the dealership that the gears are striped on the lift gate. 2 1/2 years of use and the gears are striped?.

Like to place a formal complaint regarding the oil consumption for 2007 chevy Suburban and the horrible quality of vehicle. A few months after purchaing the vehicle the transmission gave out. I've been having problems with oil consumption and its horrible. I believe that chevy should stand behind their product and do a massive recalls for these vehicle. Again, chevy should stand behind their product. There are so many reviews about this same problem. Obvious there is a problem. Will never buy a chevy again nor will I recommend chevy vehicles!!.
