Top of the dash has severe cracks over instrument cluster and around the passenger side air bag. Cracking is continuously getting worse.

Dash has multiple cracks, not sure the date when it happened, I used today's date, I just bought the vehicle, it looks like they tried to repair it. There is no support under the dash. Husband had a 2006 GMC sierra c2500 truck VIN # 1gthk23dx6f261245 and his cracked also, we do not own it anymore.
"takata recall" the dashboard has cracked in several places and over the course of a few months, has completely broken over the instrument cluster. This is a safety hazard as I am afraid other pieces will fly out in the event of an accident. My family and I have been faithful customers of gm since the 50's but I am strongly considering another brand since gm does not honor or offer to fix repeated problems by its owners.
Dashboard cracking in two places.
Dashboard randomly cracked in 5 different places for no reason. This is the most recent time, I have previously replaced the dashboard.
Dash cover. First off the dash is cracking like so many others. The pieces are getting sharp as it is thick plastic. I cut my hand on it just dusting it. The parts that are cracked are right above the instrument panel. The cracks have grown the width of the cover. These cracks occur frequently in motion or not in motion. I don't know if it is the heat and bumps but it seems to be a problem. My concern is if the airbags go off those pieces of the dash could fly and break off like nothing and hurt someone even worse in that type of situation. The photo provided is just two of the four located on the dash.

Dashboard cracked around the passenger side airbag as well as other locations on the dash. The concern is that the airbag inflation will be impeded by the cracking dashboard. Vehicle was in motion on a city street when the crack occurred.

Our car has 86,500k miles and is garaged. We have two cracks in the dash board. One is on the passenger side by air bag and the other is on the driver side over instrument panel. My concern is if the passenger air bag deploys in an accident it will be compromised by the crack in the dash board leaving the passenger unprotected from the airbag. The latest crack occurred just this past week. My car was at a stop light and I heard the crack occur on the drivers side. Upon looking at the dashboard I noticed the driver side crack. This can't be normal and if it is there is a serious flaw in the design. Please advise.
The dashboard on my vehicle is cracking. This is a potential safety hazard because if the airbags deploy the dash may break completely and shards of plastic may hurt my family.

Takata inflators . . . Still no repair info. Also, as noted in many other complaints, my passenger side airbag/dash cover has a huge crack all the way across. Needs to be fixed. Also - we have electrical issue after electrical issue. When will they address these issues?.
Dashboard cracked at corner of passenger airbag and at steering wheel.
The dashboard around the airbag has cracked in multiple places. This is alarming as the integrity of the dash/ air bag is now at risk. Should theses airbags deploy I am afraid the plastic will hit myself or worse my wife and family.
The dashboard on our 2007 Chevrolet Suburban has cracked for the 2nd time. The first time the dealership eagerly replaced that dashboard after about 2 yrs. Now 165,000 miles later the dashboard is cracked again (cracked about 2 yrs ago) in multiple places and no one wants to take responsiblity for this potentially serious safety concern. I think it is sad that we could end up like the airbag recall where it is too late before something will be done. We have kept this Suburban because it runs good and it has provided a safe means of transportaion for our 3 teenage boy drivers up to this point. It has not been involved in any accidents at this time but we don't want to find out what parts go flying if there is an accident. Chevrolet needs to own up to this problem and agree to fix it no matter what the mileage-it was aleady replaced once so obviously it's not owner neglect!.
Dash contains four cracks. Two cracks that are over the instrument panel cluster and two cracks on each side of the air bag deployment door on dash.
The dash is cracked , it is cracked by the air bag and if in a accident can cause srapnal to fly all over.
Cracked dash above the instrument panel and at the top of the passenger airbag compartment. Front impact collision could cause pieces of dash to puncture airbag or injure passengers.
2 noticeable cracks on the dashboard, one on the passenger side near the corner of the airbag and the other in the driver side in front of the steering wheel.
The dashboard of the vehicle is cracking especially in the area of the air bag and along the vehicle cluster . Concern if the vehicle is involved in a collision where air bag is deployed and the dashboard creates flying projectiles.
I purchased my chevy Suburban and notice a small crack on my dashboard. After only a few months after purchased I notice the same crack on my dashboard extending toward the airbag and down to the instrument panel . I noticed last year that my driver side dash had a crack between the windshield and the steering wheel and at first was shocked as I thought I was seeing things but infact it was cracked. I contacted my car detailer and asked if he noticed it and he told me he sees this in many Suburban's and escalades that he details and thought I was aware of it and would contact the dealership! I contacted the dealership that said it was not common and asked if I use a sun shade being that it's so hot in south florida & I told them I always do and I have a 1996 isuzu trooper and I don't have any cracks in my dash. The dealership said there was nothing they could do. I recently recieved a recall letter stating my vehicle had an airbag recall and when I went online to check the status I saw all these complaints about owners of chevy Suburban's with dashboards cracking. I was on lunch break today and when I got in my truck I wanted to take a closer look at the airbag compartment and to my disbelief, the passanger side dash also had a crack in it now and in the exact same spot as all the other complaints just above the passanger side airbag compartment and same area on the drivers side. Being that both Suburban's & escalades are manufactured by gm, I now know there's a serious problem and gm needs to take responsibility for this defect for the amount of money these vehicles cost!!! ( $72,000. 00 was what my southern comfort custom Suburban cost me. ) so gm what are you going to do about these ongoing issues with cracking dasboards/airbags??? this is just the begining of my fight on this problem that should not have happened. And I see I'm just one of many complaints with this problem.
I purchased my 2007 Chevrolet Suburban brand new in 2007. I think the mileage is somewhere around 150,000 but not sure because the odometer cluster went out on the vehicle several years ago. Also, my door handles are starting to peel apart which are cutting my hands and my children's hands. One incident it sliced my hand open very similar sever paper cut but worse. The handles were already replaced once on my Suburban back in 2009 by gm and at gm's cost. The main issue about this email is the seatbelts and the dashboard. There are four passenger seatbelts that do not work hardly at all. Sometimes they will snap in/buckle and there are a lot of times that they do not. The crack in my dashboard is right next to the airbag. It really concerns me as far as being a safety issue. I do have five small children that are constantly with me in my car. I just want this dashed fixed at no charge being that it is a defect. I have signed a petition with thousands of other gm owners with the same exact issue. . . . Cracked dashboard and most of them in the same exact place. . I'm just asking for this to be replaced and corrected.
Huge crack in the dashboard, driver side. The electrical has been bad in this vehicle ever since we've had it since 2009 for the past five years the window controls don't work and the radio doesn't work car just stops on its own and dies rear passenger radio gets extremely hot to wear it causes the skin to be burned. Vehicle rattles extremely loudly and keeps getting worse over the years.
Entire dashboard has severe cracking and loose pieces of the dashboard due to cracking. This situation creates an unsafe condition which could cause bodily harm in the case of an accident specifically in the deployment of the air bag. The small cracked pieces of the dashboard are small enough for a child to swallow creating a choking hazard.

I have a 2007 Suburban that has a cracked dash along the instrument panel and over by the air bag. . . Chevorlet will not fix it because it is not under recall and vechile is out of warranty and says I will have to come out of pocket to have it fixed. I think is a defect in your dashes as I use a sun shield and it still cracked and I dont have the money to fix something I feel is a defect in the way you make you dashes. I am scared that if the air bag deploys on the passenger side that someone may get hurt because of the way it is cracked. I would to have this resolved and not have to come out of pocket and take away from my 5 children to have this issue fixed when I feel it's a defect on ya'lls part.
Dash pad cracked. Crack starts by upper left corner of passenger side dash airbag pad and goes toward windshield. Seems to be a common problem as stated to me by dealership where I bought the vehicle. After my vehicle was recently totaled, I went to see another Suburban, a 2008 which had a cracked dash with identically placed crack. Dealer wanted $750 just for the part. Wondering if the crack will affect airbag deployment.
Stepped onto the running board to enter the vehicle and upon doing so the dash cracked in two places on the drivers side. A few weeks after this I noticed that the dash had cracked at an unknown time on the passenger side directly next to the airbag section of the dash. Have tried to contact gm about this problem and cannot get a response.
The plastic instrument dash has cracked in two places. The one crack is located beside the passenger airbag. It appears that it would be possible for pieces of the plastic dash to be propelled around the interior cabin of the vehicle if the airbag would deploy in a crash.
My dash has cracked above the steering wheel control area all the way up. I have tried to repair with plastic epoxy and a vinyl repair kit and it still looks horrible. Due to the degree of poor performance with this cheap piece and possible fracturing upon airbag inflation it is very dangerous and should be recalled. Gm isn't taking responsibility for the manufacturing defect.
