Six problems related to power train have been reported for the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle recently reached 160,000 miles. Maintenance is up to date. Transmission appears to have an intermittent fault with its operation as it will throw itself out of drive while the vehicle is in motion. We are unable to safely drive this vehicle now due to its unpredictability.
The transmission dipstick tube has become detached due to vibrations in the engine.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while stopped with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle lurched forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. Additionally, the rear lift gate closed on its own while the contact was standing underneath. The contact sustained bruising to her face. Also, the contact stated the vehicle hesitated to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.
When trying to come to a stop the vehicle seems to suddenly accelerate right before stopping. The vehicle is going less than 5 mph and it quickly lunges forward right before it gets completely stopped. Has done this on at least 3 different occasions. If I had been very close to the car/object in front of me I might have hit it.
The vehicle is one week old with 1200 miles on the clock. The propshafts are serverely rusting. The yokes are rusted. Dealer said gm refused to further perform repair and consider it normal.
Transmission. Vehicle will lunge sometimes just before coming to a complete stop. Feels like the vehicle has be hit lightly from the back end. Have come close to rear ending other cars. The lunge last for just a split second.
