1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

The dashboard in 2007-2014 gm trucks and subs break apart. These can shatter when in an accident. There is insufficient bracing and supports to keep the dashboards from cracking and coming apart in pieces. Only remedy is to replace the dashboard or get an aftermarket cap that may or may not hold during an accident. Especially when the airbags is deployed.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2024

My Suburban's dashboard has a crack that extends now to the edge of the airbag compartment door, with a piece now missing and what appears to be something like an airbag visible. I am concerned the airbag will not deploy correctly if / when it is needed. I have called a certified Chevrolet dealer/ repair garage who said this is not an issue listed under Chevrolet's recall, although I have seen numerous other customers express similar concerns and issues as mine. Thank you.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2024

The vehicle has exterior side mirrors that fold in. Once folded in the driverside mirror can be powered back out, but the passager side does not. This makes it unsafe to change lanes and identify a vehicle in your blind spot. This malfunction has happen several times on this vehicle. Prior to this vehicle had another 2013 Suburban that the same malfunction occurred on. What are the odds of the same malfunction occurring on two seperate vehicles. The vehicle is currently at a mechanic shop that I have asked to check this out. Without this mirror it is unsafe to drive on a multi-lane freeway where changing lanes is necessary.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2023

The dash has cracked in several spots and makes loud vibrating noises and I’m worried with one crack being near air bag that air bag will not work correctly or dash will have projectile pieces that may impel into a person if the airbag deploys.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2023

M y dash panel has had a small crack for years but the entire passenger air bag section lifted this morning. The dash panel is jagged and unsafe.

The side blind zone system is continuously on.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

At home: both front doors, built in armrests supports. Inner hard plastic arm support is broken in half. Was not aware it had broken and leaned on it getting out of the car. When the arm rest gave away I fell out of car down to the sidewalk. My previous car was also a Suburban and we never had this problem. I asked the body shop if it could be repaired but they stated the whole panel would have to be replaced. Unable to take pictures due to it being in cased.

10 Equipment problem

Paint flakes leaving vehicle looking cheap transmission burnt in 5 yrs even though proper precautions was taken to ensure no failure door trimming made out of plastic handle for using for in and out unmoveable until repairs to transmission is done.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

The cheap, weak, plastic parts inside of the handles in the driver side and passenger side armrests have broken and only the flimsy rubbery handle remains but the inside structures have broken to bits and fallen out.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2016

On Jan. 11, 2016. I was sitting in my vehicle on a cvs parking lot when my rear hatch glass exploded. Nothing hit my glass and the surveillance video showed no one around my vehicle when this happened. I was told it could have been from the extreme cold conditions in combination with having the rear defrost on. Gm would not warrant this as a defect, and I have seen other instances that this has occurred with other people.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2014

The vehicle was in cruise control at 75 mph. While trying to switch lanes and disable the cruise control with the brake pedal the vehicle accelerated . We were unable to slow the vehicle as it reached a speed of 115 mph. Driver put both feet on the brake pedal as we tried to slow the vehicle for just approximately 10 minutes while weaving in highway traffic. The vehicle suddenly stopped and slowed.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

While turning left at an intersection from a stop, half way into the turn there was a clunk or pop that was heard and felt on the left driver side floor board. When it was taken for inspection, it could not be replicated. The second time it went for inspection, we were notified that it could not be replicated and if we could meet at dealer and have mechanic ride with us in order to identify the noise. During this time the tech heard the noise. We were told that the vehicle was ready for pick up and on the work order, it stated that all suspension components were torqued to spec and all lubricate points had been lubricated. The clunk is still happening when we turn left and sometimes turning right. The frequency of this pop/clunk increases as the vehicle is driven.
