Ten problems related to carrier/rack have been reported for the 2014 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The dashboard has cracked in numerous places.
Dash is cracked in two places also inside handle is made of plastic and it is broken. Vehicle was stationary.
Cracked dashboard. Afraid if in accident shrapnel from cracked dash will go flying especially if airbags are deployed.
Cracked dashboard at information cluster and passenger side airbag. Dashboard crack is bad enough that if the airbag were to engage shards would be launched into cabin thus creating a safety hazard. The condition exists whether moving or stationary.
This 2014 Chevrolet Suburban was purchased by my husband in 2017. Cracks have started at both top corners of the airbag compartment. According to information found on the internet, this is a common occurrence, gm is aware of it but chooses to ignore it. It seems to me, this type of cracking could effect the performance of the airbag or create a more dangerous situation in case of a wreck.
Dashboard cracked in two places. No reason.
The dashboard cracks on its own as it expands over time with heat and wear. The cracks occur around the driver side dash and the passenger side airbag compartment, making it questionable as to how the car will hold up during a collision and whether or not the passenger side airbag will deploy properly.
The dashboard is cracking in several places included by the front passenger airbag. While researching to see if a recall was available, noted numerous identical issues were noted dating back to 2009 but no recall.
Cracking dashboard. No accident occurred it is just cracking. I'm afraid it may affect the airbag.
The driver side and rear passenger side outside door handles cracked on the inside. The dash is getting a big crack above the steering wheel.
