1 Wheel Rim problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 10/13/2005

My 3 yr old son has received 2nd degree burns to 3 of his fingers from reaching through the rim of our Suburban. I would like to see all car makers to make the rims differently so little fingers do not get into danger! I have called gm as of 10-13-05. I would like to see some type of guard placed on all rims to prevent this from happening to someone else. Please contact me to advise me of your findings.

3 Wheel Rim problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/24/2004

This is concerning a '01 z71 Suburban. Had tires changed due to unexplainable vibration in wheels. After tire change tires deflated. Found aluminum alloy rims severely rusted and pitted on the back side, found one rim has a hole the size of a pea after brushing some rust away.

4 Wheel Rim problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 07/01/2001

Original wheel has a crack going through the entire rim. No external damage to the rim just a crack that appears to be ready to cause complete failure of the rim. I have pictures of the cracked wheel which is very scarey when you imagine our family of 6 driving at 65-70 mph while on vacation. I have kept the wheel for review by anyone that would like to see it in hopes that if there is a problem, this might help avoid unnecessary problems. The crack appears to have been there for some time as it is not a clean metal appearance. It is filled with what appears to be road dirt and looks as if it has been there for a while.
