One problem related to front seat belt buckle assembly has been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was driving vehicle when suddenly vehicle in front stopped short. Had to slam on brakes. When this happened the back lap/shoulder belt buckle locking mechanism released. Child seat, with the child in it, was not secured & went forward. Child hit the rear of the seat in front. Child checked at emergency room & released.
