The shift lever position indicator located in the instrument panel cluster does not illuminate at various times. This has happened on and off for a while and I decided to research the issue. I found a similar recall for this model year vehicle on your website, but gm refuses to cover the defect on my VIN. I recently almost hit someone being in the wrong gear. This matches a previous recall id of 05v055000.
The contact stated transmission malfunctioned. While driving the wheels intermittently locked. The dealer rebuilt the transmission to try and correct the problem. This did not completely correct the problem. Currently, the vehicle will still slip from drive to neutral without manually being changed. The dealer could not duplicate this specific problem.
