general problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dashboard was fractured above the instrument panel and around the air bag compartment. The contact called vara Chevrolet (8011 interstate 35 access rd, san antonio, TX 78224; 210-255-2153) who stated that the fracture may have been due to weather conditions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 102,110. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I got into my car at 1pm and found a crack above the instrument panel and another where the airbag should deploy on the dashboard.

The door handle detaches from the door! I have had this happen 3 times now! it costs $170 to repair and it continues to happen. I believe this is a flaw with the vehicle which should be repaired at no cost by the manufacturer.

I just purchased a used 2007 chevy Tahoe and I have cut my fingers on both door handles. It seems that they used cheap chrome plated handles and it is pealing. It is razor sharp. I am just glad neither my wife or kids got cut. Please research this and see if there are others. Dealer will not replace because the vehicle has over 36,000 miles. This should be fixed! thanks.

I owe a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. I noticed in July of this year that there is a 2-3 inch crack on the top left corner of the dash on the passenger's side--right on top of where the air bag is! I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said "since it's not a safety issue" general motors said they will not replace the dash! how do they freaking know it's not a safety issue when it's on top of the air bag??? and now there's another crack! this one is just to the left of the driver's side instrument panel on top of the dash! this crack is 6-7 inches long. I take super good care of my vehicles, sun shades, regular conditioning, etc. And since the vehicle is 4 years old, there is no reason (other than crappy workmanship and crappy materials and crappy engineering) to have not one but two cracks on a $50,000 vehicle! so I'm guessing when my air bag fails on my passenger side and when my daughter gets hurt in a wreck because the airbag doesn't properly deploy, then it will be a safety issue because I will be all over general motors. This is not an isolated incident. Check the internet. Hundreds of complaints of the same cracks happening. Gm is aware of the problem and is choosing to do nothing about it. Please look into this issue and help us get this problem resolved.

I am the owner of a 2007 chevy Tahoe. A few months ago I notice a crack in several places on my dashboard. The most visible crack was located next to the passenger airbag. I am afraid that because this crack is next to the airbag it may possible cause the airbag to deploy and cause serious injuries to a passenger or cause me to be involved in an accident.

Interior chrome door handles on 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe pealing/flaking creating sharp edges that are capable of inflicting harm/injury to passengers.

Peeling chrome coating on inside door handles has sharp edges that have cut hand hydraulics on back cargo door already out and I hardly ever use back door.

The chrome plating on the interior door handles has peeled and caused small cuts to my fingers. Checked with dealer and of coarse they are not aware of any other problems like this.

I own a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The chrome is peeling from the interior door handles. The chrome is thick and I have cut my fingers while opening the door. The dealership reported they would not replace the items because of mileage, but it had been a common complaint for the 2007 model Tahoe.

5 cracks in vehicle's dash; 2 on driver's side, 3 on passenger side around airbag. Started appearing last fall and gm was notified. Informed by gm, without looking at vehicle, that it was not a manufacturing/product issue and my case was closed. If passenger airbag deploys, the plastic dash will explode into pieces. Dash has yet to be fixed.

There is a crack at the passenger side airbag that appears to be unsafe in head on collision. If you reference Chevrolet forums-tahoe website you will see 45 pages of failures and gm is very selective on whom they will replace or deny.

Car has not been in an accident. Just concerns like so many other gm customers. There is a crack that is at the airbag, on the passenger side, that keeps getting bigger. Concerned that airbag might deploy, or not work at all. Have contacted gm corporate several times telling them about the same issue that other customers are having in this same area. When contacting gm they tell me that they have not heard of this issue, but there are so many customers that have complain online. I was told to take my vehicle to the dealership for further inspection and was told that this could have happen by using armorall, in that case the whole console would be cracked and not in certain places where all other customers are seeing the same exact cracks. Actually the entire console is affected with several cracks. If gm was not aware, how come some of their customers consoles have been changed out by the dealership? more than once. They tell me because of the model and the mileage of my vehicle it would not qualify. This is a material issue plus a safety issue if it affects the stability of an airbag. There are even videos on u tube that shows a visual picture.

The headliner in my new vehicle rattles and it also has some indication of damage near the passenger visor area which obviously occurred during factory (texas) install.
