The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the front driver’s side door failed to open as needed without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and had the door repaired. Recently, the contact stated that while loading groceries into his vehicle, the front passenger’s side door failed to open. The failure persisted, and while making a right turn at 25 mph, the front passenger door inadvertently opened without warning and almost hit another vehicle. The contact was able to pull over and shut the door. The contact took the vehicle back to the same mechanic where the first repair was performed and made an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
