1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2026

The failure is believed to have originated in the fuel delivery system, specifically the check valve in the low-pressure fuel feed jumper line at the engine. This valve failed to seat properly, allowing high-pressure pulses to travel back into the low-pressure side of the system. This malfunction caused the s-shaped portion of the fuel feed line near the tank to vibrate excessively against its mounting clip. This constant friction wore through the line, resulting in an active fuel leak. All damaged components remain on the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request. The safety of the driver, passengers, and the public is at immediate risk due to a severe fire hazard. Because the leak is located near the fuel tank and undercarriage, gasoline is being released where it could be ignited by road sparks, static electricity, or exhaust heat. A fuel leak of this nature threatens a catastrophic fire that could result in vehicle loss or personal injury. The problem has been confirmed via a physical inspection that matches the symptoms documented in a gm service bulletin (recall - high pressure fuel pump leakage). While the vehicle has not yet been subjected to a formal tear-down by a dealer due to the danger of driving it with a leak, the visual evidence at the exact location specified in manufacturer documentation confirms the failure. To date, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the leak, the primary symptoms were an audible rattling and ticking noise from the engine bay and underside, characteristic of the pressure pulses described in the TSB. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages, as the mechanical wear on the exterior of the fuel line occurred outside the scope of the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic sensors.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2025

Vehicle cranked longer than usual, noticed slight smell of fuel. After arriving home noticed fuel smell was very strong and a puddle of raw fuel under vehicle. Fuel line appears to have rubbed/vibrated against the frame of the vehicle causing the line to rupture. Date of incident 12-26-2025. No mil or warning messages were present. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself for this incident. I feel this issue could have resulted in serious injury or death of my entire family and possibly others on the road. The vehicle has not been modified in anyway and is in oem configuration. We will have to have the vehicle repaired but will document as best we can. I would like to add that after a quick internet search I found this to be a common issue so I was amazed there was no recall on our Tahoe. Thank you.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2025

I am leaking fuel from the fuel lines connected to the fuel tank. I can smell the fumes inside of the cab. I also can see the fuel leaking under the driver seat.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

Fuel line leak. After researching it appears there was a safety recall for this in the 2015 chevy Tahoe.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2025

I’ve had to have the fuel line replaced 3 times because of fuel leaks.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2024

While driving multiple times the vehicle has completely lost power or almost died in the middle of the roadway. It has been taken to the dealership multiple times and they are reporting transmission and catalytic converter issues, however these issues were present at 20,000 miles and taken back to the dealership to be fixed. This is now a reoccurrence of issue and the dealership refused to warranty or fix the reoccurring issue. Loss of power while driving and random acceleration have occurred and almost caused accidents on multiple occasions.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2024

The high pressure fuel pump may leak resulting in fuel odor and increased evaporative emissions. The engine may also fail to start or provide less power when driven due to insufficient fuel pressure. Recall came out on February 2015 bulletin no. : 14858 part number: 12626354 description intake manifold gasket 12618337 intermediate fuel feed pipe 8/v8 engine 12625817 fuel pump service procedure.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2024

Fuel line has a hole in it from rubbing against the frame this is the 2nd time I've had to repair the fuel line in the 3. 5 years I've had the vehicle.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2023

I was constantly smelling a strong odor of gas coming from the inside/outside of my 2015 chevy Tahoe. When I purchased the vehicle in 10/23 everything appeared fine. I researched the internet to determine what the problem could be & found dozens of similar situations. People saying the fuel line rubs the undercarriage of the vehicle causing a pin hole size in the fuel line causing it to leak gas. Currently my vehicle is in the shop and the problem is tbd.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2023

The high pressure fuel line from the fuel pump to engine sustained a pinhole leak over the fuel tank. Fuel leaked over top of tank and ran down front drivers side front of tank. Discovered the leak after noticing strong fuel odor inside vehicle. Took to shop. The fuel line is installed as so it will rub undercarriage of vehicle. This is what happened to mine. This is a factory install and the lines are doomed to fail because of this. The excessive contact rubs holes into the lines. This seems to be a common problem with the 2015, according to my research. There are hundreds of these same complaints with this year listed all over repair sites on the internet. I believe this needs looked into, as flammable fuel leaking suddenly can be a hazard.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

Gas leaking out of my vehicle. First noticed it right after pumping gas then started smelling a strong odor of gasoline!.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2023

The fuel tank is leaking from the top of the tank.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2023

Leaking fuel from the in-line on top of gas tank. Very dangerous and alarming that this is a known issue and you choose to set back doing nothing. It’s the same exact problem that everyone is talking about so it’s be nice to be reimbursed for the parts or repair or something.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2023

2015chevy Tahoe lt fuel pump rattle cause fuel line to rattle. Service bulletin bulletin no. : 17-na-304 date: February, 2020 subject: brand: Cadillac Chevrolet technical ticking, rattle and/or buzzing noise heard from inside passenger compartment, possible fuel leak model: escalade escalade esv model year: from VIN: engine: l86 l86 l83 l83 l83, l86 l83, l86 transmission: to from to suburban Tahoe 2015 yukon models yukon xl models 2020 GMC involved region or country north America, middle east, europe, russia, chile, columbia, ecuador and peru. Condition 1 some customers may comment on the following condition: • arattlingand/ortickingnoisethatmaybelouderinsidethevehiclethanoutside. ? the noise may be picked up at the back of the left valve cover, and/or underneath the vehicle near middle of the driver’s door. ? this noise will be noticeable at idle, most noticeable in the 700-900 rpm range. ? the noise may also sound like a lifter tick. ? this may also be called a fuel line buzz or ringing noise. • whiletherattleisoccurring,thes-shapeportionofthefuelfeedline,rightinfrontof the tank, will be vibrating / rattling. Condition 2 some customers may comment on a fuel leak. Diagnosis that the fuel leak is originating from the fuel feed line at the molded-in clip on top of tank. Cause the rattling, ticking noise may be caused by the check valve in the low pressure fuel feed jumper line at the engine not fully seating, allowing pressure pulses from the high pressure side back into the low pressure side of the fuel system. These pressure pulses could cause the s-shaped portion of the fuel feed line, in front of the tank, to vibrate and/or rattle if the s-shaped portion of the fuel line rattles over a period of time, the fore-aft motion in the line could result in wear. This wear could result in a fuel leak where the line is secured into the molded-in clip on the tank.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2023

The fuel feed hose that tracked on top of the gas tank rubs against a portion of the tank and a pinhole sized hole gets created. Anytime the vehicle is on or fuel pump pressurizes the line, fuel is sprayed all beneath the vehicle. Gm has made a “fix” to the line by adding a shroud to the updated part. Part number 84200271 is the updated part. I contacted martin Chevrolet in crystal lake illinois and was advised since my vehicle was out of warranty nothing was covered. Spraying fuel due to bad engeeniering is as unsafe as it gets.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2022

Safety hazard. Fuel feed line is leaking from top of gas tank and running down beside tank, which can lead to vehicle fire or explosion.

17 Other Fuel System problem

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2022

Starting on August 13, 2022, my 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe exhibited a harder than normal start condition prior to a drive of approximately 80 miles home from visiting a relative. The car drove normally on that trip. After that return home I parked the subject vehicle in the garage and emptied it of my belongings. I noticed a fairly strong gasoline smell and inquired with my wife if perhaps she had re-fueled our other vehicle and experienced any over fill. Shed said no, so I left the garage open to see if it would air out of the fuel smell. It did through the course of the afternoon so I closed the garage that evening. The next morning (August 14, 2022) we had an event to get to in the morning and were planning to take the subject vehicle. The vehicle again had a hard start issue and within 10 seconds of starting I could smell fuel while inside the vehicle with the windows up. I immediately stopped the ignition and looking under the subject vehicle. I saw gas flowing down the side of the fuel tank from above and dripping on the floor at a rapids rate of 2-3 drops per second. This continued for about 5-10 minutes gradually slowing down since the the ignition had been shut off and as the fuel pressure in the system was reduced. By the end there was a puddle of fuel about 1 ft in diameter on my garage floor under the vehicle. From that point and after any strong gasoline vapor smell had subsided, I decided the vehicle needed to be moved from the garage and parked on the street. I parked it on the street and decided I would take it to marty feldman Chevrolet immediately early in the morning of August 15, 2022, while roads were less busy. There was no warning light or indication prior to the leak. In some quick research, I found several concerns related to fuel line abrasion and fuel pump leaks/failures. Marty feldman Chevrolet diagnosis/repair costs are documented in this complaint. Components are available for inspection.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2022

Fuel supply line coming out of gas tank is leaking. Looked up on internet and found this to be a very common occurrence, with several pictures of Tahoe's sitting on the side of the road on fire. This is such a common issue on 2015 models that gm should recall and fix. We can't wait for a recall, I know that takes a lot of time. The Tahoe is my wife's ability to get to work and home, as she is the breadwinner in our family, I am on ssdi for total disability. We need someone or some organization to step up and assist us in getting this problem fixed and since it is a design flaw resulting in a serious safety issue, gm should be held responsible for the repair. Local mechanic found the problem after wife smelled strong odor of gasoline in garage where vehicle is parked, which happens to be directly below our bedroom, thus if a fire started in garage, with my health and mobility problems, we might not be able to escape. This is a serious problem, common with this model and I'm sure you've heard about it several times, please help us.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2022

Fuel smell outside of the vehicle. About 3 months ago one part was replaced. Now the smell is back. Vehicle is at the mechanic so they can investigate further.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2022

The pressure fuel line on top of the gas tank started leaking while driving and caused large puddles of gas under the car. Parked vehicle and unable to drive it due to gas leaking near exhaust.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2022

Fuel line leak above the gas tank causing fuel to spray under the rig. Big fire hazard.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2022

Fuel is leaking from gas tank area. Major fire hazard. I am told this is due to a faulty fuel line securing issue which allows the fuel line to rub cuasing a leak and major fire hazard.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2022

Technical service bulletin 17-na-304 1. . 6 should be a recall if it involves a fuel leak. My vehicle has experienced this issue, and fuel is actively leaking (right next to the exhaust). With 2 small kids in the car everyday, and chevy (and the NHTSA) knowing this since September, 2017, how is this not something that a consumer is notified about, and fixed by the manufacturer immediately? I would appreciate if someone could contact me to talk me through this not being a recall.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2022

Design flaw when fuel line rubs against the tank or frame and causes a hole in the line, resulting in fuel spraying everywhere.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2022

I was driving down the road at 65mph, when my transmission blew. I believe the correct term is that my torque converter went out. I basically came to a dead stop in traffic, endangering my life and my children's. My understanding is that this is a common issue with this type of transmission. Chevrolet should be ashamed of themselves for not recalling this item.

28 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2022

Recently I've noticed that when I try to accelerate or take off from stop it does not pick up speed as use to. My engine rpms rise but speed is getting less and less. I've also noticed my transmission temperature is staying between 190-200 degrees which gm has already had recalls over pertaining to this style transmission having issues due to high heat. Vehicle has always had maintenance kept up with and never abused. Have taken to local shop since warranty ran out several times for inspection of transmission well my complaints in regards and have fluid done. Recently I've noticed fluid is needing to be replaced more frequently due to losing viscosity from overheating and being burnt, has the familiar and similar smell of toast being burnt. This is a 2016 Tahoe ltz w just over 200k, yes in some ways a lot but considering the cost of vehicle new/age/synthetic fluids and everything it seems to me the transmission should last longer especially considering it's been maintained. These new vehicles are outrageous and the transmissions are very expensive as well, considering these same transmissions have had recalls from gm I'm a little aggravated and frustrated on how some can and can't. I'm familiar and aware they say it's per manufacturing plant and particular models but confused as to how if the transmission that has had recalls for overheating doesn't comply to all the transmissions that are same type, I think it's bogus n a way not to be responsible for accepting failures n having to replace all parts so gm says it only happened here n with these parts. I guarantee you if someone would take a look at gm shipping and papers they would see it. If a 2016 4l60e had problems it's more than likely all of them in that year had all same parts so therefore all acceptable to failure, its not like transmission maker chose different parts to send to different plants or this get that no thats just b. S. So there not responsible for all of them so they pick plant with most failures.

29 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2021

Came home and could smell gas. Had just filled up so ignored it. Next day, just pulling into driveway, husband could see gas pouring out the bottom below the drivers seat area. . Fuel line split. Had to have it towed to dealership and paid nearly a grand to get that repaired. Warranty wouldn’t cover it. .

30 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2021

Leaking fuel lines from rubbing on fuel tank.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2021

Started to notice a fuel smell/odor, which after several days 3 to 4 got worse, then my Tahoe started having problems starting, I then seen fuel leaking from the driver's side behind driver's door and below driver's side passenger door, which is where my granddaughter's car seat is located, I inspected where the leak appeared to be coming from, I could tell it was coming from on top of the fuel tank running down the side of the tank leaving a puddle of fuel, the repair shop said they believe the leak is coming from the fuel line and would pull the fuel tank down and replace the fuel line which is going to be a expensive repair. This is a serious safety hazard and should be covered by general motors corporation, I am concerned that my Tahoe could have caught on fire while driving without no warning indicator light. I will keep invoices from repair shop and the faulty factory fuel line. I fear this problem could very well cause loss of life or a very serious accident while driving that I believe general motors is aware of.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2021

Noticed a strong gas odor when exiting the vehicle. Upon looking the at the vehicle from top to bottom I discovered that there was gas dripping from the gas tank. Took the vehicle to the dealer, and was told that a fuel line on top of the tank was cracked and needed to be replaced. Since this seemed like a pretty serious safety issue I did some online research hoping to discover a recall, but didn't find any open ones. What I did find was a lot of people saying that this same issue had happened to them, and is a result of a design flaw where the fuel line on top of the tank is too close the the chassis and over time vibrations wear a hole into the line. Since this is such a serious safety issue I feel that that it should be taken care of by the manufacturer.

33 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2021

I bought the vehicle from dan cummins dealership and a few months later started to smell gasoline got it checked vehicle replaced the gas line it was leaking.

34 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2020

My vehicle started leaking gas while it was turned on while it was moving and stationary. A mechanic found that the fuel line developed a pin sized hole as the source of the problem. After some online research I found that this is a problem for many with my vehicle.

35 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2020

I had strong smell of gas one night and my first thought was maybe may gas cans but after put them outside the smell continues, so then I notice some start delay on my 2015 Tahoe and put the 2 together I knew I had some fuel leak (very dangerous situation inside my garage with all my family sleeping) I took the truck to the shop and they found the leak on gas pressure line. Replace and done $437 after 2 days.
