I purchased a vehicle from a friend that is 20 years old but runs great and he takes great care of his vehicles. This one was his away car, in that he was here only 6 months of the year and drove this one mainly when he was here and only put on about 2-3 thousand miles per year. He told me he was scraping the car so I offered him scrap value but little to my knowledge that the total frame is rotted from inside to out and on driving it home it thumped, shook rattled and scared the crap out of me. I had no idea being a car person all my life that this vehicle would be allowed on the road with only 84k on it it is undriveable and even a pro welder would not work on it.

While backing up out of my driveway, I heard an odd sound and the vehicle pulled to the left. I stopped the car and was told by my son to not drive it until he looked at it. I am 77yo and he was worried about his mother getting into an accident. My son said the front suspension crossmember rusted in half and the car was not driveable. I have contacted gm at 800-222-1020 based on the NHTSA action number : ea06018. The representative told me there was no recall for this part, however your website contradicts that statement. You have my permiss to speak with tracie a. Tankevich regarding this matter.

The entire undercarriage has rotted, including the brake lines, oil lines and antifreeze coolant lines. I do not believe this is normal for any car, even though the car is 12 years old. It was happening to the previous owner but he was reluctant to report it. . . I am not. I have owned the car only for about 4 months now. I have had to replace some of the coolant lines and some of the brake lines. Now the oil lines are leaking heavily and I am going to have to have them replaced as well. Also, the previous owner said that when a passenger tried to use the seat belt it completely locked up on the front passenger side. I have not been able to have a passenger int he front seat because it is illegal to have a passenger ride without a seat belt. I feel that the car should b e repaired by general motors since I feel the steel used in building this car was not properly coated, thereby causing this severe deterioration of the undercarriage. I had to be towed when the brakes failed going down rt. 739 in pennsylvania, just before a huge hill/downgrade in the roadway. Now the coolant lines are leaking due to rust and so are the oil lines.
My car is in excellent shape I store it right and wash all the salt off during winter there was no corrosion or at least I thought until I was driving down the road the car started shaking violently causing me to go off the road and hit a tree come to find out my front crossmember was extrrememly corroded but the metal right next to it was not corroded at all so they used inferior metal the accident damaged the fenders bumper and lights it also destroyed my sway bar links struts and strut mounts I take good care of my car and when I called chevy the told me they knew about it and that the would not do anything about it.
I pulled into car port, put vehicle in park, turned off key and went into house, son came out of house and noticed that vehicle was still on.

I've had to replace the O2 sensors every 2 years as they are defective. I have owned the vehicle since 2004 (12 years) so I've replace the O2 sensors ( all 3) 6 times. Has this happened or been reported by any other owners?.

Fumes entering into cabin of vehicle as a result of a leaky topper on the vehicle. There were fumes coming from the catalytic converter due to the after market topper the consumer purchased, which was not sealed properly from the beginning, and had been replaced previously.
While driving on highway at 65 mph interchangeable hitch ball slipped off mount on vehicle. Chain held trailer to vehicle for a while, then it popped loose and went straight into gaurdrail. Please provide any further information.
