Car Stall problems of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Tl-the contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact merged over to the right shoulder. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000. Pam.

I was driving home one night from work on a back road in south carolina going 35mph when my headlights shut off and the car completly stalled, I quickly turned on my hazard lights on to warn the oncoming traffic the car that was coming up on me had to swerve into the grass because the area was so dark he didnt see my hazard lights until he got close to me. This isnt the first time this has happen there really should be a recall on these 2002 trail blazer because this is not safe at all im worried my child will be in the truck with me and it happens again.

Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that when the engine was started and the heat activated, the vehicle would stall. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic for diagnosis. The contact was informed that there was an electrical issue with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 208,565. Kmj.

Car idle would go crazy at stop signs and rd lights. During take off idle would plunge and car would stall or come very close to stalling. Took it to dealer and they could not fix it since no codes showed up on computer. I took it to another shop and the problem was the throttle body and cam position sensor.

Ses light on. Brought to local repair shop and dealer, which both verified a p0304 code indicating a misfire on cyl 4. I decided to change spark plugs and found water in the upper cylinder around the spark plug and the spark plug coil from cyl 4 was corroded. Replaced plugs and cleaned coil as best I could. I found a TSB indicating that this is known problem and dealers are told to install a seal to stop water from draining on to the engine. I called chevy customer service but the refused to cover the install or the repair.

Upon startup (cold or warmed) there are high rpm's, the idle is high, engine races and does not idle down. When shifting into drive and giving gas there is low acceleration and the truck won't go over about 15 miles per hour. After driving about 2-3 blocks the truck shifts and then runs normal. Intermittent problem, dealer states if there is no problem we can't diagnose or fix it. Black box recorder is needed to install until problem is reproduced and can be recorded.

Intermittently when trying to start the vehicle, the vehicle would not start properly. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled, after a few seconds the vehicle would restart as if nothing had ever happened. The starting problem has occurred more than seven times.

While driving vehicle would stall intermittently causing the vehicle to pull off the road. Consumer made contact with dealership.

2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 21,000 miles. Bought in August 2001. Has been in for service 10 times since we bought it. Latest problem is stalling in the middle of intersections or after stopping. Has been in for repairs for this problem 4 times, and problem recurred today. Went out to start car and it was dead. Just picked it up from the repair shop yesterday. Has been towed three times for same problem. Service shop has reprogrammed computer, replaced battery, ignition switch, and tcm (computer module), and pcm/vcm (other computer modules) and fuse kit. Still having problem. SUV is unreliable and unsafe.

The vehicle stalled intermittently while driving. The dealer was unable to determine cause of problem. The vehicle periodically shut off while in the idle position. The vehicle was delivered to the service department on several occasions to have the problem identified and corrected. As of 07/07/2003, the vehicle continued to have problems with loss of power and the service dept. Has yet to determine the problem. . The air condition developed a foul odor which was present after the vehicle sat in the sun, the odor was detected immediately after the vehicle was started and the ac was turned on, the vehicle was serviced times and then the problem returned, the air condition now takes a long period of time to cool the vehicle and produce cold air.

The consumer states that while driving at 45mph, the vehicle stalled and died out with out warning resulting in a collision. The dealer has inspected the vehicle three times prior to this incident. Nlm.

While driving vehicle would stall intermittently at any speed, vehicle been to the dealer on three occasions, and the problem reoccurring. Feel free to provide any further information.

When if traffic, vehicle would repeatedly stall with no trouble codes in computer. Dealer could not locate problem. Consumer inspected vehicle and found oil seaping from camshaft position sensor, saturating wiring. Dealer replaced. Problem appears corrected.

Vehicle stalls with no engine re-start. The consumer is requesting that the engine be replaced in there trail blazer because of the stalling in the engine, before this situation occurs resulting in injury or death. Please review and consider request.

While driving, vehicle completely stalls without warning. Cause unknown dealer contacted.

The vehicle ran rough and stalled while driving. The dealer attempted to repair the vehicle seven times but has not been successful.
