general problems of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

I am the original owner of a 2003 chevy Trailblazer. When I first purchased the vehicle in the month of October/2002, I didn't experience any problems until maybe the fourth year, going on its 5th; right before the warranty was about to expire. The first problem I encountered with the vehicle was the transmission. It didn't want to change gears properly. Because of the 5 year warranty, the dealership was able to fix that problem, at that time. Today, I continue to experience transmission problems: with a loud noise, a struggle in horse power and a vibration when I am at a complete stop. I have spent so much money on other electrical parts as well. I have purchased over ten light bulbs for rear brake lights that continue to malfunction. I recently replaced a relay because the head lights would constantly go out after the vehicle was turned on. I replaced the fan clutch and water pump because they both went out. I also replaced a battery and two starters. For the past few months, my vehicle smells like fuel everytime I turn it on. I am asking that your department look into all of these claims. It appears that almost everyone that owes a 2003 Trailblazer has been experiencing the same issues, but yet; no one is doing enough to protect all those consumers who have been grateful to this country in purchasing american made vehicles. After noticing strong gasaline odors in car and in the garage, the check engine engine light came on. According to diagnostic test run by dealarship, this is the result of a leak in evac system. While researching, noticed other owners having same problem. Called gm, advised no recalls issued for this problem. Gm offered no relief. Expressed my disappointment with rep since this problem could lead to very serious consequences. Good thing the problem was caught since could have led to fire had there been an acccident or an incenarator nearby. My cost to repair the manufacturers defect is $1600. 00.

I, along with many others are experiencing major problems with the instrument panels on our Chevrolet Trailblazer. My mother traded hers in because her speedometer was going out. But my problem is much worse, my whole entire dashboard is out. My gas gauge doesn't work, my speedometer doesn't work, my oil pressure doesn't work, my thermostat doesn't work, nothing works. My cruise control acts up too.

Fuel smell inside and outside of vehicle.

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext and it has started to smell like gas is leaking. After some research on the internet I have found this is more common in these vehicles than I would of thought. I have contacted my local dealer and a part is being ordered, but I would like to make sure that it will be at no cost to me to have this repaired. I understand it can fall under a special policy adjustment or TSB# 05012. This is a big safety hazard and would like to know that someone is making sure this is fixed so that a leak will not put any families at risk.

Fuel sensor in my 2003 Trailblazer is broken. Dealer wants $800 to fix it. This is a known problem with the Trailblazer. A recall by gm needs to happen.

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact smelled a strong odor of gasoline. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that they needed to diagnose the vehicle in order to locate the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were 68,000.

Strong gas fumes and check engine light comes on -reads an evap code.

I have a 2003 Trailblazer with 73,000 miles on it. Just recently we are smelling gas fumes really bad to the point it makes us sick and is also hard to deal with one car having to be dropped off at work, etc. I have 3 children and have parked the vehicle because number 1, I feel like this is a big safety hazard for my children and number 2, I cannot afford to repair this after reading all the comments on the internet ($900. -$1000. To repair). It sounds like there are a lot of people dealing with the same thing. Can you tell me where to go with this situation? am I suppose to contact gm, and if so are they doing anything about this problem? thanks, sandy nosker.

Fuel leak.

Had to have fuel sending unit replaced. The dealer stated the top was rusted, leaking fuel on the driveway. Filed one complaint here already with no response now I saw in the paper there might be a recall.

I attempted to fuel the vehicle. Every time I attempted, the pump would shut off as if an overflow were happening. This is not the first time. The dealer had advised me that it had fixed the problem when advised of it on a previous occasion. Usually happens when the engine hasn't been running for very long.

Gas spilled over from spout and underside. With the amount of gas spilled, overflow got all over vehicle and person at the gas pump. Had to wash off shoes, clothing and lower leg area due to excessive gas spillage! extremely dangerous!.

Every time you fill up for gas. Gas overflows and spills on ground.
