I believe the person that sold us the Trailblazer knew it was a lemon and we bought an extended warranty through finance company and professional financial services is a shady company alone with nathans auto sales. I have two disables children and this is suppose to be their transportation to surgeries therapy and school. It stays broken down all the tome within a year it has been worked on 15 times also the linkage to them shiftier is broken. I can't afford to PA for a car insurance and work on this vehicle every week. Savannah tire is a rip off too they cannot do engine just change oil. Lemon la and crappy mechanic work.
Starting about a few weeks ago my 2004 chevy Trailblazer ext has reeked of unspent gasoline, and this smell consumes the entire interior and exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle also has small leak below reservoir which appears to be leaking unspent fuel. Chevy offered a "special coverage" to correct this issue (corrosion on top of fuel tank reservoir), however it only covers vehicles under 10 years of age and under 120k miles. My vehicle is under that mileage, however this repair will not be covered due to age of vehicle (mine was assembled in March). This issue is a major safety concern, as any small spark could cause this vehicle to ignite. I cannot continue to drive my vehicle, and feel this needs to be rectified before it causes catastrophic loss (either building or personal).
While driving on the highway there was a boom under the hood. Two minutes later the car started decreasing power and I had to pull over. Before I could get out to lift the hood, fire was shooting from under neath.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the vehicle suddenly accelerated as the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The contact mentioned that in order to stop the vehicle he had to shift into neutral. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician diagnosed that the O2 sensor needed to be replaced and the vehicle control module computer needed to be reprogram. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 97,000 and the current mileage was 97,500.
Other drivers notified owner/driver that vehicle was on fire.

2004 Trailblazer , transmission dipstick rusted and broke, transmission went out from water getting inside / do not know how this could have happened ! and the bearings in the waterpump went out leaving the fan shaft wiggling / loose. With only 65000 miles on my Trailblazer not traveling no faster than 75 mph max. This should not have happened. My friends with the same Trailblazer is having the same thing happening. I serviced every 3500 miles since owned 2005. Please help if can .
Our 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with approx 40,000 miles caught fire while driving approximately 40 mph. We noted smoke behind the car and before we could pull over other drivers were yelling to us that the car was on fire. We immediately got to side of road, turned off engine and a large fire was coming from the hood. A good samaritan ran up with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire that was approx 4 feet high from the hood. All passengers safely exited the car as soon as stopping and due to the fire being extinguished quickly no other damage was done. This vehicle was running fine with no recent issues or service on the vehicle prior to this event. We have never had the car serviced by anyone other then Chevrolet dealerships. We were informed by the tow truck company that they have many 2004 chevy Trailblazers towed that have caught fire. I have seen similar experiences described online but have not found if there is a technical service bulletin related to this.
