Low beam head lights turn off while vehicle in motion on city street. High beam head lights still work. Turn motor off and let vehicle set for a few minutes, then low beam head lights will work again.
Driving on hwy 178 at about 9 pm and the front head lights and turned completely off. I moved light switch on and off and my light would not go back no on. . . . . Low beams suddenly stopped working while driving at night. Problem already fixed by auto repair, but very concerned that latest recall only includes 2006-2007 when this is happening to older Trailblazers as well.
As we were driving the low beam lights completely quit working we quickly switched to the high beam lights which worked without any problems. At this time the incident was several months ago and the low beams still do not work at all. The Trailblazer is designed for the lights to work at all times and they have never turned on since the incident. We have had no problems with the high beams and all signals seem to be functional. As I have researched the problem it has come to my attention that this is a problem seen by several people. I look forward to hearing from someone in regards to this problem. Any information or help is greatly appreciated.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving at an unknown speed, the low and high beam lights failed on the vehicle. The failure occurred more than once. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 112,500.
Front head lamps turn off for no reason on dark street, leave the driver with no visibility.
The speedometer gauge went down to 0, while I was on hwy traveling at 55 mph. My speedometer currently isn't working and gas gauge is not working to. Why isn't there a recall on this? the lighinting will go out to and dont want to come back on some times.
While driving at night noticed no low beam head lights. Flipped to high beam and they worked. Called a friend who said to check the relay by switching the fan relay with low beam relay. That was problem. Purchased a new relay next day and installed it. 2 days later, no low beam lights again. Popped cover on relays to find a melted mess. Low beam relay had melted along with the 15 amp fuse adjacent to it as well as the fuse box. Upon further research on line, this seems to be an ongoing issue with this vehicle. I'm currently hunting down a used under hood fuse/relay box to replace this one with.
Lights started flashing, gas gauge went to empty, car died. Restarted drove 1/4 mile died. Stereo system completely failed (whole unit). Keeps popping circuits changed out still doing. Cannot shut off heat due to banging sound. Car speeds up and down on own. Cannot read gas gauge correctly, not sure how full tank is.
The dash control panel has stopped working or only certain items showing speed, temp and oil pressure work on occasion. After searching online for repair options there are a number of complaints for the same problems for this specific vehicle.
There are a few things. And I just would like to know if there is a recall or possible recall issue at hand. The first thing that happened was the rpm gaudge. It will stick at 3000rpm or higher. But the engine is not over reving and the needle still moves up and down as if it would when reading correctly. But doesn't drop below the 3000rpm. Then it randomly resets and works correctly then will again randomly stick at 3000 empty or higher. The next thing that happens is the battery light will randomly flicker. Not all the time just at random. I had the battery tested and its holding a charge just fine. The weird thing next was I killed the power. No key in at all and it still flickered on my dashboard. Then stopped the next day. Another thing I was driving home 1 night from work. Turned my blinkers on to turn onto my road and my interior lights slowly come on and slowly turn back off. My head light wire on the drivers side burnt out about a yr ago which I replaced. Now I'm having issues with the drivers side. The bulb for my low beam is not blown. If u hit it comes back on. My drivers side speaker has not worked since I purchased my Trailblazer. And it will randomly work. This is recent. I really think there is an electrical problem. And my consent is a fire. Ive had it just under 2 yrs. And I'm only the 2nd owner and it had 34000 miles on it when I bought it in June of 2011.
I can start my vehicle and the gauges started sticking. I am constantly being shocked by the driver door. My gauges no longer work at all and have completely went haywire. I have no dash lights. My vehicle has just died in the middle of a busy street. I do not know how much fuel I have, how fast I am going. My cruise control either at times increases my speed or does not hold the speed. I have to use a gps device to know approximate speed. This vehicle needs to be recalled. I love my vehicle but it has tons of issues.
Left rear blinker does not turn work. Bulb has been replaced. The when I turn on the blinker it makes a rapid blinking noise.
My head lights don't come on randomly. Randomly they do. Obviously, this is a serious safety issue especially at night. No, it's not light bulb replacemet issues. . . . . Other blog sites have complained about the same issues. Very dangerous!!!! the gas gauge also is not working properly. When the gas gets low it blinks on for a second then adds more gas to the panel. People could run out of gas unknowingly. Also very dangerous!.
My headlamps keep flickering off. At this time they don't come back on. For about 7 months they would go off and I would have to pull over and shut vehicle off. It would come on after I let it sit for a minute. Now they shut off and will not come back on.
I have been having a problem with the lights going out while driving. I usually have to pull over and shut vehicle off and let it set for awhile. Once I restart it works. Well now they don't work at all. I replaced the headlamps several times. I have to drive with high beams because the dims don't work.
2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, while driving at night the low beam lights went out, I had to drive home with high beams on, this is a major concern, it is unsafe on the road. It has happen several time, they usually come back on, but not this time.
First problem was head lamps went out for no reason, had to replace the lamp driver relay, so far its only happened once. .
Headlamps no longer work (low beams). Bulbs are good and the high beams still work fine.
The problems started in 2006 and were very intermittent. There is an electrical issue with the instrument panel, lights, battery , and other unknown items. The dealer check the electrical system when it started, but could not find any problem. Sometimes, while driving at night the lights went off, and I would have to pull off the road, check any fuses and relays, and then they would come back on. The next electrical issue was with the speedometer, which on a trip across to florida it would be erratic and indicate I was traveling over 120 miles an hour when my gps said I was driving at 65. After the warranty expired I have had issues with replacing multiple batteries which go dead every 4 or 5 days depending on usage. After the speedometer stopped working, each other instrument panel item worked on and off. This includes the gas tank gauge, the ammeter, the temperature gauge, tachometer, and the oil pressure gauge. They all worked on and off for the next 3 years, and now none of these very important instrument panel gauges have worked for over 2 years. I wonder if the electronics that effect the air bags would work if I ever have an accident. I have replaced many batteries, I still have to charge each one every 4 or 5 days or I cannot start the truck. I have checked online and there are thousands of Trailblazer, and their related gm vehicles with the same problems. I hear that a recall was issued for the GMC-envoy which is the same related parts vehicle but there is not one for the Trailblazer? I am dealing with these issues and hoping for the recall that we all have been waiting for. Thank god I have a 97 Toyota camry that runs well. I wish mary barra would read this. I also have photos of the non-working instrument panel, and the 120mph speedometer.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving approximately 25 mph, the contact noticed that the low beams were not working, which caused him to activate the high beams. Since that time, the low beams have worked intermittently. The dealer advised the contact to leave the vehicle in their possession so it could be repaired. The manufacturer stated that they were not liable for the repairs. The vehicle has not been repaired or diagnosed. The current mileage was 82,000 and failure mileage was 81,700.
