1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2017

Instrument cluster is very faulty. At times when it is hot outside the battery and oil pressure gauge won't function properly. The rpm gauge went out at only 36,000 miles. I just went over 70,000 miles recently and now the speedometer will not work. As a matter of fact the only gauge that has always worked properly is the fuel gauge.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

Speedometer and other dashboard gauges are getting stuck and no longer operating. I am told that the electrical component - instrument cluster is the cause, I have also been told that this is very frequent occurrence with these gm/Chevrolet models.

3 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2014

The headlight socket (low beam) on the drivers side melted and nearly caught fire. And the rpm gauge stepper is messing up.

4 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2013

We were doing our normal fill-up (truck was off) and after we filled it up & turned it over, the fuel gauge shot way over the 'full' mark. Every time we turned the vehicle on, the fuel gauge was reading differently, I have no idea how many times it was right. The oil pressure and battery charge gauge have also been giving false/sporadic readings as well. After much searching, I found the root cause of this to be a very common problem not only in the Trailblazers but the tahoes and several other of their vehicles (the instrument clusters are faulty). Given the expansive nature of this issue, and the potential dangers of not knowing your speed, fuel level, oil pressure or rpms, I'm having problems seeing why this isn't a recall already. It seems to happen more in the 2003-2006 models more than others from what I've found as well.

5 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

The speedometer, gas gauge and rmp gauges stopped working shortly after we purchased this vehicle used. I understand that this is an issue that has not be taken care of. Please do something.

6 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2012

This was actually the second or third incident where the key got stuck in the ignition, blazer was in park the lights remained on so did the radio anything that is typically on during aux, but this was the beginning of a long problem that lead to me trading off. . The key gets stuck you can not remove it caused the battery to go bad, it would begin to happen often the service engine soon light would come on, the transmission would not shift above 3rd gear, also shortly after the purchase in sept of 2011 the speedometer stopped working. The blazer died 3 times gauges on dash would periodicly stop working. My service 4 wheel would come on randomly the key issue was the biggest problem but it was only a matter of time before other things went wrong. When the key would get stuck in the igintion as stated the transmission would not shift properly in the beginning the transmission would act out once you took it out of park it was noticeable but as the problem became worse it started happening driving down the highway I noticed once that I have successfully made it through 1-2-3 but never got out of 3. I should state that when the key was stuck I would have to manually shift through the first and second then put it into drive otherwise the car had no power because it would be stuck in the higher gear. Tried to contact the dealership as there was a recall on the dash for the 2003 model and they told us it wasnt a safety problem I do not understand how random loss of power and random car dying is not a safety issue, I have been watching the list of gm recalls and I have not seen much about the Trailblazers, and it bothers me that I am sure there are other issues like the ones that I had. On another note transmission related my neighbors just had to get rid of their Trailblazer 2006 for transmission problems.

7 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2011

I am having multiple instrument cluster problems on my 2004 chevy Trailblazer. They have done recalls on every type of chevy truck but the Trailblazer. Why not the Trailblazer as well? I have been reading forums after forums and complaints about the same thing and gm refuses to do anything about it. This needs fixed otherwise there may be fatal accidents by engines blowing up from the oil psi gauge not working properly and so on.

8 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2011

My car has only 54000 miles on it and the instrument panel is shot. The dealer wants $600 to fix it. My speedometer, oil pressure , and gas gauge only work maybe 10% of the time. It is just terrible that I have to pay for this out of my own pocket when this is obviously a detective part. If this would have happened at 120,000miles I would not have been upset. That's normal wear and tear. Outrageous. I feel taken advantage of.

9 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2011

I bought my vehicle at a dealership in 2010. I do not remember the exact date but it started having problems shortly after. The first thing that happened was all my gauges stopped working except my speedometer. In 2012 I was driving and at two different occasions within a day apart, while I was turning into a parking lot or gas station, my vehicle would shut off. I took it to auto zone to have one of those free tests done and nothing was showing up as abnormal. Around 2013 my vehicle started making a real high pitch squealing sound during start up and while driving. I took my car into since it needed a new water pump and they said that the high pitch sound could be fixed but wasn't a safety concern. In 2014 just a few months ago, again I was pulling into a gas station and my vehicle turned off. I was able to turn it back on and have enough time to pull into a spot before it shut off again. This time it wouldn't start my keys were stuck in the ignition and it could not be jump started. After taping the battery the keys came out of the ignition. It starts now but none of the electrical inside the vehicle works. At this point it's not drivable because of the temperature outside and the fact that I can't roll down my windows and the air blows only hot. The stereo doesn't work, the seats to move forward and back do not work. The back brake lights work but the tail lights while driving do not work. The front headlights work.

10 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

Instrument cluster panel completely gone crazy. All gauges are out of control. I am not able to tell my speed and some of the lights come in in the panel while the truck is off. Have to disconnect the battery to make sure the thing will not catch fire. . This issue really needs to be investigated due to a possible fire hazzard.

11 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2010

Instrument panel/ speed odometer no longer works, first incident happened March of 2010. As of 12/2013 the voltage meter, rpm gauge, speed odometer have completely stopped working.

12 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

All of my gauges on my dashboard completely turn off and then randomly turn back on. It is very dangerous to drive around with no speedometer, gas gauge, olil, battery, tachometer or odometer on. Then it all of a sudden will turn on. It needs to be recalled. I took it to a repair shop and they said it would cost around $500 if not more to have them take apart my dash and look and then possibly send it out to seeif it can be fi. Xed there are numerous people I have found online with this same problem with the same vehicle.

13 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

Failure of the gauge cluster on a 2004 chevy Trailblazer currently with 59,300 miles. About June 2009 the tach continually read incorrectly. Dealer tried to mislead me to bring it in for a diagnosis at a cost of approx. $100 I told them its broke why should I pay for a diagnosis. I had read about the problem on -line at edmunds, com. ,my SUV had 41,000 to 42,000 miles on it. In July 2010 my gas gauge started to occasionally malfunction, now Jan. 2011 it is incorrect. In Nov. 2010 my charging gauge started malfunctioning. I also have since read online of the same problem on other similar year gm trucks ans SUV and they have recalls on them. Its just a matter of time for the speedometer gauge to read incorrectly. Please help, these malfunctions are not safe. .

14 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2008

I have a 2004 chevy Trailblazer with about 79000 miles on it. The instrument cluster started being incorrect about a year and a half ago. At that time I was not aware of what the problem was and did not realize that this problem is so widespread among Trailblazer owners. The gauges stick. When this first started it was just the speedometer and the rpm gauge, but now its the mentioned gauges plus the fuel gauge. I have had a traffic stop and was given a warning for defective equipment. I would like to know why is there not a recall in place for the repair of this problem? I have been told that it has been brought in as a problem by a lot of owners and the cost is around $500. Please help with this issue that is clearly not an owner initiated problem but a defect in manufacturing. Thank you very much.

15 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2006

The problems started in 2006 and were very intermittent. There is an electrical issue with the instrument panel, lights, battery , and other unknown items. The dealer check the electrical system when it started, but could not find any problem. Sometimes, while driving at night the lights went off, and I would have to pull off the road, check any fuses and relays, and then they would come back on. The next electrical issue was with the speedometer, which on a trip across to florida it would be erratic and indicate I was traveling over 120 miles an hour when my gps said I was driving at 65. After the warranty expired I have had issues with replacing multiple batteries which go dead every 4 or 5 days depending on usage. After the speedometer stopped working, each other instrument panel item worked on and off. This includes the gas tank gauge, the ammeter, the temperature gauge, tachometer, and the oil pressure gauge. They all worked on and off for the next 3 years, and now none of these very important instrument panel gauges have worked for over 2 years. I wonder if the electronics that effect the air bags would work if I ever have an accident. I have replaced many batteries, I still have to charge each one every 4 or 5 days or I cannot start the truck. I have checked online and there are thousands of Trailblazer, and their related gm vehicles with the same problems. I hear that a recall was issued for the GMC-envoy which is the same related parts vehicle but there is not one for the Trailblazer? I am dealing with these issues and hoping for the recall that we all have been waiting for. Thank god I have a 97 Toyota camry that runs well. I wish mary barra would read this. I also have photos of the non-working instrument panel, and the 120mph speedometer.
