1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2016

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext. While driving in the rain, the moisture sensitive wiper system did not detect moisture. As a result, the wipers started to malfunction and operated uncontrollably. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 04v046000 (visibility/wpier). The failure mileage was 65,000.

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2015

During high speeds (interstate/long-distance driving) there is a vibrating noise on my windshield. This started years ago; at first I thought the noise was my antenna. I checked it to make sure it was secure and it was, so I dismissed the noise. I don't do a lot of long-distance or interstate driving, so it was a while before I heard the noise again. Ever since I have dismissed it as wind noise at high speeds. During my internet research of a recent mechanical problem, I came across information for improper windshield mounting and lift gate glass mounting on other gm vehicles. Although I did not find recall information for my make/model/year, I am filing this report because of windshield noise and potential windshield and lift gate glass failure on my vehicle. Now that I know about this possible defect, I will try to avoid interstate driving or try to drive 60 mph or below. I recently had to travel for a funeral 5 hours away but rented a vehicle instead of driving my own. In the report date, I have inserted the date of the last interstate travel that was made in my vehicle.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. Sg.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2012

Driving down the road around 10:30am going about 45 mph the back window of my 2004 chevy Trailblazer ext just exploded - glass everywhere in the back cargo compartment. Weather was clear and sunny and we did not have the rear defroster working. Fortunately we didn't have any other passengers in the vehicle other than me and my husband, and we were close to home, so we went home and called the insurance company to have someone come and fix it.

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2010

I bought this car about 4 years ago and it has been nothing but an elecitrical mess. First my head lights would go out once a month, then a couple times a month, then once a week. My brake lights started doing the same. Our famliy mechhanic couldn't figure it out, he just kept replacing them and sending the bad bulbs in for warranty. A couple times the pigtails and lamps had to be replaces. Also 3 seperate occasions both headlights went out at once while driving. And I had to drive home in the dark with no head lights on. I took it the chevy dealership after the third time abd apparently my fuse box was melted and needed to be replaced. Spent over 1000. 00 doing that and it worked okay for about a year. Then headlights started going out again and brake tlights as well. Not once a week, but still about once a month or every other month. Recently my drivers window stopped working and I couldn't control the master switch to lock my car or roll up my windows. The cluster panel in the door needed to be replaced. Also, had two sensors that needed to be replaced because my 4 wheel drive, parking brake, and crusie control would stop working all at once and the lights would be lit up on the dashboard. I wasnt' able to use any of them until the sensor was replaced. Also the power shorted out in my side mirros, so I can't adjust the mirrors with the control or they start tiliting back and forth like crazy on their own. I have to get out of the car and adjust them manually. Gm needs to do a recall, this car is not safe and I will not be buying a gm car while I look for a new car soon.

6 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2010

In 2010 my Trailblazer would not idle or accelerate properly, the mechanic found the primary smog air pump not working. Cost to me $720. 00. Next the instrument cluster gauges started jumping around and now the speedometer does not work at all. Estimated cost to me $480. 00, I can't afford to fix it. . Thirdly the windshield wipers go on and off without warning. I went to a dealership and a private mechanic and neither could find the wiper problem. Cost to me $68. 00 for diagnostic time and lots of danger ahead. Similar gm vehicles/ SUV's have been recalled for the same reasons, and these vehicles all share similar parts. My daughters envoy was recalled because of the instrument cluster, replaced at no cost to her. Same instrument cluster as my Trailblazer. I candidly spoke with the owner of a chevy dealer ship who said; "these problems are costing the owners thousands of dollars and should be recalled". With all the research I've done it is clear the Trailblazer is loaded with recallable problems. Why has the Trailblazer not been recalled???.
