Unknown Or Other problem #1

My gas gauge reads empty after I fill up with gasoline.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

The fuel gauge was giving false reading saying empty when it was not or full when it was empty and sometimes in between. This cause the engine to stall when driving on a public road making it very hard to pull over and stop because the power steering and power brakes quit working. I have searched on this issue and it is a huge problem with Trailblazers.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

Two weeks ago we put new tires on my Trailblazer at 28,700 mi. We were leaving for a trip and took it to have the front end aligned to be sure the new tires wore properly. We did not go to our dealer as there was no time before the trip. Upon checking the car, they discovered both my front struts were leaking badly and they no longer gave a firm ride. We had no choice but to have them replace both struts at only 28,700 mi. The repair shop was quite surprised that both struts were bad. My Trailblazer is garaged, has extremely low mileage, is driven only on city streets or freeway and never carries any loads. Even though we were past the 36 mo. Portion of the warranty, the repair shop told us that they felt the struts should have lasted far longer than 28,700 mi. And that with the excellent care of my car, it was far too early for them to have to be replaced. I ck'd with some friends who had their cars for far longer than me and many more miles on it and they had never had any issue with struts. I decided to contact gm to file a complaint. They contacted me and the interviewer told me that she completely understood why I would be upset. However, today I was called and told that they would not help with any of the cost for replacement of the struts. My concern is for the safety of other people that own chevy vehicles with the same struts. We were told that we should not drive our car with the bad struts on the freeway because it was not safe. I want to file a formal complaint so that others can be made aware of the possible dangers of the struts failing at such an early mileage. I plan to contact whatever agencies necessary to make sure the public knows about the problem.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

The bearings on the alternator are wearing and need to be replaced, the vehicle only has 29,000 miles and according to my mechanic they should not be worn this early and should be replaced as soon as possible; this is definately a safety issue and a faulty part that I should not have to pay to have replaced. The fuel level indicator has stopped working over 2. 5 years ago. I did receive a letter saying that the part may wear out prematurely and they are willing to pay 50% of the replacement but if it wears out prematurely then the part is faulty and I should not have to pay to replace the part. The backup light panel is bad, I tried to replace the bulb but the problem lies with the panel, fauilty part again.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

Fuel gauge shows random indication of fuel level. After filling the gas tank to full, the fuel gauge falls to empty and triggers the fuel light and dings. Later on it will show a random indication of fuel level.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

First - relay resistor module for manual heating/hvac. . . Certain blower settings do not work in 2006 Trailblazer. This same problem is a recall for 2004 chevy silverados. Will this be a recall for the Trailblazer as well? second - gas guages have failed and do not work. I know of 3 others that have the same problem, is there a recall on this?.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

I have had several problems with my power windows going up and down and then just not working at all. I smell smoke sometimes but can't locate the cause of the smoke. I have also had problems with the electrical connection to the radio, which also works sometimes but the majority of the time it does not work. I have had this problem for a long time now and need a resolution before my SUV catches fire. I also have problems with the drivers side power door lock which works intermittantly-whenever it pleases. I recently started having problems with my rear wiper blade-turn it on and it moves a little then stops. My headlights dim up and down while driving. . . I have replaced the alternator and the battery and still don't have enought power for some reason-dealerships want to charge a lot of money just to diagnose when it appears that this is obviously a defect in the electrical system of the SUV.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

The gas gauge on my 2006 chevy Trailblazer read incorrectly. The problem just started happening. The car was being driven like normal and no work had been done on the car. The problem is still occuring because I don't have the $800 dollars I was told it would take to fix the problem other probem was noticed in December of 2010. The heater stopped working. Prior to the heater stop working the blower stopped working on 5 then stopped working on 4 then it just completly stopped working. I pulled the blower motor resistor out of the carr and noticed that the connector to the blower motor resistor pack was melted to the connector. I removed some of the melted plastic and tried the heater again and one of the wires was glowing orange when the heater was running. I replaced the blower motor resistor and melted connector. On April 22, 2011 speed 5 on the blower stopped working. I pulled the blower motor resistor on April 27 2010. I noticed the same problem was starting to occur again. The two of the wires leading into the blower motor resistor were melted together. This car is not diven very far, putting less than 5,000 miles a year on it. Is the melting wires a problem that I should worry about? is this car safe to let my wife drive with the kids in the back?.

Our car was parked, the entire back hatch was open (not just the glass window) and I was unloading bags and boxes from car. The rear window exploded into tiny pieces of glass that rained down on me. Getting imbedded in my head, back and arms. Neighbors came running the sound was so loud. The car had not been involved in any kind of collision and there was nothing that hit the window. I had been to the vechicle several times since the door had been opened because I had lots of items to unload. Now I have been noticing many other Trailblazers that have missing components from the rear window leading me to think that their windows have had to be replaced also. Had we been driving that day when this happened, with the force in which the glass flew, I am sure that the children in the back seat would have been hit with the glass.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

I am failing compliant case of fire hazard on the blower resistor, have complained to the chevy garage about this they have known the problem was there since 2004 and never reported this, the wires burnt filling the Trailblazer hazard smoke causing my grandchildren to cough and nauseated, along with my wife and me. They will not cover to repair this . I am seeking help on this matter. Also there is a bad short somewhere causing a the battery to drain which may cause a fire . . . . . . . Not sure of what this is. I have contacted state representative [xxx] the congressman. Please contact me a. S. A. P if any more details needed . My wife uses this for work and I am very concern on the fire which may occur I am an auto mechanic for 40 + years and I know there is a server problem of a defect in this vech. I ran out of gas on expressway on way home from work while gauge showed 1/4 tank. This happened again months later with tank showing just under 1/4 tank. Gauge around the time of first incident started bouncing around off and on at any reading while SUV was running. It would go from empty to 1/2 a tank and bounce around back and forth eventually stopping at a random amount. The gauge would go to empty when it was full until it was driven enough that I was down to around 3/4 of a tank then it would give the correct reading until guessing around 1/4 of a tank when the incidents happened with me running out of gas. A few months later the gauge completely quit working and has yet to work since then. I started researching online about the gauge and found multiple incidents with same year and make and many people stating they paid over $700 to have repairs done and multiple people stating they had it fail again. Since reading those remarks I have yet to have it repaired and have had to keep track of my mileage so that I don't run out of fuel again.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

When I pressed the accelerator pedal to the floor all the way, the floor mat trapped it wide open. This in return caused the vehicle to speed out of control. This is the third incident with this type of vehicle between my fiance and I that this has happened to. Because I was aware of this problem I just kicked the floor mat and the accelerator pedal was released. Very scary feeling if you don't know what to do.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

: the contact stated while driving 35 mph the floor mat trapped the accelerator pedal causing the vehicle to speed out of control. The vehicle crashed into a fence post and a power line guide wire. Seat belts were in use however minor injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop for repairs. The manufacturer has been alerted. Updated 03/28/06.
