18 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2015

Ref:14v755000 per hte above recall, as previously submitted I had replaced the headlight bulbs at least 4 times in a 1 1/2 year period. The last time the right headlight did not illuminate I left it as is awaiting a fix. On or about the first of this month we came out of an establishment after dark and as I started to drive off it became apparent that neither low beam lights were lit. I had no choice but to drive home with high beams on, creating a safety condition for oncoming traffic as it probably blinded them. I once again installed 2 new headlight bulbs. It is apparent that gm does not consider this safety problem as being serious as they have not made a fix for it. Perhaps you should hit them with a million dollar fine to get their attention to get this safety item corrected. We are perhaps fortunate because I was the one driving and not the wife on a dark country road and it suddenly burnt out. You have now been notified twice, in the event someone becomes injured because of this deflect I of course will use these advisements to you in court proceedings.

They insisted that I pay for diagnosis and parts and would be reimbursed at a later time when the recall was performed. My vehicle was recalled Nov 24, 2014 for it's low beam headlights. The NHTSA recall number is 14v755. Gm still has not found a remedy to this. They make many models of vehicles, all of which have headlights, so why they have been unable to develop a solution after 17 months is very disturbing.

35 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2014

While driving on a freeway at night the low beam headlights suddenly went out. I was unable to get them to come on again and had to drive 15 miles in traffic with the high beam lights on. I checked the lamps, sockets, fuses and wiring. No problems were found, so I replaced the low beam headlight relay. The low beam lights continue to intermittently fail. After parking the car the headlights begin working again. The dealer and gm say there is a recall in the works for some 2006 Trailblazers, but my VIN is not included. Gm needs to expand this pending recall to cover all affected vehicles.
