Came out of work 11:30 pm to find the drivers door window down on a rainy night. As I got close I could smell the elec. /plastic fire smoke smell. My seat and floor were soaked from the rain. I could not put the window up and had to drive home wet. I had the dealer where I bought it check it out and was told the door module had melted from fire from a shot and was lucky the car did not burn. I have called Chevrolet assistance center about 5 times and was told I have to wait parts are not available.

I had by back hatch open and I grabbed the door handle to close it. I pulled it down and as I pulled it down I hear a pop and all the glass shattered down on me with the door still open up in the air. Three weeks later I replaced the window. (not a cheap glass almost $1000 with labor to replace) the mechanic opened and closed the door and the hatch to test for defects. All went well. I went to close the door so that I can leave the mechanic shop and I heard the pop and the glass shattered again. GMC has no recalls for the 2006 chevy Trailblazer ext LS and I have to go get this back window again. This is a great truck just don't know what is wrong with this back window. Ughhhh!.

I bought my 2005 Trailblazer in August 2008. In October 2008, the rear window hinge adhesive was separating causing the hatch to not close properly. This was replaced by the dealership. Now in September 2010 the same thing is happening. The rear window adhesive has completely disconnected from the hinge and the window does not close properly and has a possibility of completely falling off. When the entire rear door is opened now the hinge 'pops' up and hits the glass. The dealership is trying to find an appropriate adhesive to mend this problem and they say chevy will not pay for another glass replacement. The first replacement came from the factory with the hinge connected to the glass. This seems like a factory defect. I know there are other chevy vehicles of different years that have experienced this problem and worse when the doors did fall off or the glass scattered due to the poor adhesive on the hinge. This will cost over $800 to replace if this cannot be resolved and there is no guarantee the adhesive on the new glass will hold and I will have no recourse.

The glue that holds the rear window on the vehicle separates from the window, causing the window to blow out. We noticed the window was lopsided so we opened it and found that one side of the window had come unglued. We took it to the dealership this morning and they said it couldn't be reglued - it would have to be completely replaced. Chevy won't cover it because it's out of warranty. We left and he called us with the quote of $1000 for replacement. Just a few minutes later, the entire window blew out. It shattered glass all over the road and vehicle, even hitting us in the back of the head. Luckily our daughter was not in the car. The plastic cover that sits over the top of the window flew off the back and into traffic. There was a car behind us but there wasn't much traffic so they managed to avoid being hit. No one was hurt when it exploded but it could very easily have hurt someone in the back seat or in vehicles behind us.
Thank you for your attention to my concern. I own a 2005 Trailblazer. Since day 1 I have had problems with the seals on the doors - esp back doors. For the most part this has been an inconvenience until the other day. Throughout the ownership of my vehicle, at about every 10 - 15,000 miles I was having my vehicle serviced for the door seals. Without fail, they continue to come off. The other day I was driving my truck and was wondering what that rubbing noise was. The door seal from my driver's rear door was hanging down into my wheel axle. The seal got worn down to the metal cord that is on the inside. This is a potential huge danger should this have fallen down any further and got twisted into my wheel axle. One thing it did do for sure is it destroyed my newer tire! the dealership said that the door seals on Trailblazers are a poor design by the manufacturer and that they encounter a lot of problems with the door seals.
While driving on vacation at approximately 2 hours away from home destination, there was a pop noise that was heard by all. Kept driving and all of a sudden the right side of the spoiler on the rear of the vehicle popped off and was hanging down. Tried to put back on, but would not go. Took it the rest of the way off, continued on our trip. When we returned home, we took it to a body shop, which the guy told us that we were the sixth person that has had this happen to them and they are going to be fixing it for us for a fee. Would like to see if this would be considered a "recall" since there have been more than 1 of the same situation in the same area as us.

My 2006 chevy Trailblazer ext is junk! we purchased it used in 06 it had around 20,000 miles it now has 75,000 the front doors make loud popping noises when opened and shut. They are coming loose from the frame.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the steering wheel cover that covers the air bag appeared to be cracking. On February 11, 2009, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The dealer will be notified because the contact feels that this is a serious safety hazard. The failure and current mileages were 64,000. Updated 07/28/09 updated 07/30/09.
The front passenger door has not worked properly from the time I purchased the vehicle. The door was not air tight and would let in air & rain in. I brought it back to the dealer several time and after approximately a couple weeks the problem will start again. The whole air-conditioning system has failed, the blower goes on and off by its self; but when you try and turn it on it will not turn on. This includes the defroster and heater it makes driving very hazardous when the windows fogs up. I was told by my mechanic that this is a problem with the Trailblazers; he has seen a large number of Trailblazers with the same problem along with problems with the back hatch glass separating from the hinge. This has also happened to my Trailblazer and makes it impossible to open the glass or the entire hatch. I love my Trailblazer but disappointed with all the problems I have had with the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact experienced difficulty closing the front driver's side door. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop and the technician stated that the failure was related to the bushing and striker plate. The front driver's side door dropped half an inch. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop for the same failure on both the front and passenger side doors. The authorized dealer was notified and stated that the repair would cost approximately $300-$600 per door. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 82,000 and current mileage was 88,000.
I have an excessive amount of wind noise around the front windows especially at speeds over 50. I have checked with my dealer, but there appear to be no fixes. I contacted gm but they said they have no complaints and offered no help except to check with my dealer. I tried out a few other Trailblazers and found the same wind noise issue. I saw similar complaints on other web sites, but none are making it here. It appears turning up the radio may be the only fix.
The headliner of my vehicle has become soaked with rain. I believe the weather stripping on the vehicle is defective. The headliner is soaked on the drivers side from the windshield to the middle row of seats.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving 60 mph the contact noticed that the rear spoiler had suddenly separated from the rear end of the vehicle. The dealership was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be serviced. Prior to the recent failure the vehicle was taken to the dealership on 3 prior occasions where the spoiler was replaced
each time. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 82,000. Updated 05/10/10
the first time, the dealer replaced the spoiler under warranty. The second time it blew off and the dealer stated they wouldn't replace it due to the mileage on the vehicle. Updated 06/04/10.

Failure of adhesive bond of rear hatch widow hinge of 2002 Trailblazer ext. Hinge started separating to a noticeable gap to the rear window from the window frame.
The roof rack to my 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer blew off while driving home from the shore on the atlantic city expressway. There was no prior damage or accident to the vehicle to cause such a problem. We were informed that our car was not the first case. The dealer did fix the roof rack but I'm concerned that it will happen again if no adjustments are made to the design. There is a glue strip that holds the bottom portion in place. This is an accident waiting to happen.
: the contact stated while the vehicle was parked on an incline, the rainwater did not drain properly and went backward into the passenger side of the vehicle. This caused the passenger side floor board to flood. The dealership determined this was how the vehicle was manufactured and should not be parked on an incline.
My head liner has fallen down 4 times and never been replace, just reglued or re velcroed, and the noises that come from my windows are quite loud and if windy the front passenger window gives a whistle, this was not the case when I purchased the vehicle but has gotten progressively worse and I am told it is normal wind noise(including the whistle that they were able to duplicate) and nothing can be done, my carpet under the mat in the drivers seat ripped (after 6 mos old) and the numbers on my radio 1-6,except 4, and the band button has started to rub off after about 6 mos old which I was again told was normal and it's because I change stations often. Incident date to follow was last date repaired.
The upper molding of my 2004 Trailblazer blew off the back of the vehicle while I was driving. A previous problem with the same part had been fixed at no charge more than a year ago. This time, the dealership where I bought the vehicle gave me an estimate on what it would cost to repair it ($505. 20), but said this problem would not be covered by warranty. The body shop manager in 2004 said he had seen several vehicles with the same problem. The dealership today denied that pattern and said fixing the problem was up to me. To compound the problem from my perspective, it took the dealership 36 hours to come to a decision on whether or not the cost of repair should be borne by me or not.
The consumer was able to hear wind noise even with the windows up. The consumer discovered the rubber seals were loose. The dealer told the consumer it was normal for this car. Showed the manufacturer the problem of the seals coming loose and they said it was an engineering problem.
The vehicle is a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS. While shutting the door or touching the vehicle the consumer would be shock so badly that she sees colors. She tried touching the plastic handle to the door but if her finger comes within an inch of the metal it would still shock her, even through clothes. Dealership was going to fix the problem sometime this week. They have tried products for humidity and used static guard but none of this stuff solved the problem. Mechanic said they had a lot of problems with people getting shocked. After the vehicle started shocking her the computer chip was replaced, and since they replaced computer it shocked even harder.
The consumer felt the vehicle handling was very poor. The front suspension was unsteady when being passed by another vehicle of any size. The dealer examined the vehicle five times and was not able to find the problem. Windy conditions added to the vehicle's poor handling. The dealer claimed that this condition was normal for SUV's. The manufacturer was contacted and agreed with the dealer therefore they took no further action.
My 2003 trail blazer there is so much wind around the vehicle it sounds like a window is open and it so nerve racking you can not hear in order to try and drown out the noise I have to blast the radio. And when it rains water comes inside the doors and the back hatch I have taken it back to the dealer several times.
While traveling on the highway and without warning, the front grill fell off.
The center console located between the driver and passenger seats does not fit correctly. The tray allows objects to fall down near the transmission. The objects can only be removed if the console is taken out by the dealer. The consumer feels this is a poor design.
Rear spoiler molding (3rd brake light) flew of vehicle while driving down state highway at approximately 55 mph.
Vehicle has poor visibility in the rear due to a high head rest, seat back, and the railing between the windows.
2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer: opening in vehicle where critters can get in to stay warm/ problems with ac/heating. The design of the heater box has an opening where small critters (mice/chipmunks)are able to get in and stay warm. The consumer is unable to use the heat or a/c because it sounds like something is caught. The dealer and the manufacturer only suggested that the consumer use moth balls.
