1 Body problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 04/04/2025

I could turn off the engine after driving, but the key stays in the position between the engine being on and the car being off (for example when you can listen to music but your car isn’t running). The battery light came on after the issue started and so the car service place charged us to replace the battery, because they had to turn on and of the car a lot and the car had to continue to run. I took it to a car service place and they ran tests and called chevy test support to run diagnosis tests. They can’t figure it out. They think it might be the body control module. Not sure what that is. The car only has 31,000 miles on it and this is a safety issue because what if this happens and the steering wheel locks or it becomes a rolling hazard. This would affect the driver and others. There were no lights or errors indicating a problem before this happened.

3 Body problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

I first noticed an issue about a year ago when an electrical blaring noise was coming from my speakers followed by popping and crackling noises. I have taken my car into the dealership several times without resolution. Since then, I have noticed excessive humidity in the vehicle and recently found the trunk was flooded. I took the vehicle in to the dealership again, and they say the interior fabric is compromised now and the electrical sounds I was experiencing are coming from electrical damage inside the body. I have now read another review online from someone who had the exact same experience with this make and model. I believe this is a safety hazard to drivers who are unknowingly driving around for months in a vehicle that could be flooding and could cause severe damages like in my case. I have documents to support these claims, but I do not have electronic copies. If someone reaches out to me I can provide hard copies.

Failure Date: 02/01/2022

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated while driving 50 mph with a fully loaded pull behind 6x12 u-haul trailer hitched to the vehicle on the highway, a tractor trailer drove by at 70 mph, and the wake turbulence from the tractor trailer caused the u-haul trailer to fishtail, the vehicle and trailer did a 180-degree skid, spun around, and then jackknifed; causing damages to the u-haul trailer and the vehicle. There were no injuries sustained. The contact was concerned about the safety of the design of the u-haul trailer. 11 Body problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 07/22/2021

I have had multiple issues with the car since I've purchased it. The brakes continuously make noise, and the automatic emergency braking does not work. The tire pressure sensors don't work, they have the wrong tire pressure for each tire, and the tires constantly over inflate. Also, my front bumper is coming off. I've taken it to the dealership for all of these things, the dealership said the brakes seem fine, the front bumper clips seem to have warn down for some reason, and that they reset my tire pressure. There was no permanent solution. They put a band aid on my problem and I still have all of these issues.

20 Body problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 03/15/2017

I've noticed that my front end was lower than usual. At first I thought my upper control arms were giving in. I took my car to replace the front tires and to also get a 4 wheel alignment. That is when I was told that the strut base that is welded onto the chassis was rotting off. The mechanic expressed that I was a very lucky guy because at any point in time during my commute, I could have been in a serious car accident that could have resulted in death since I mostly use this car on the highway to commute to work. I didn't think much of it until he actually showed me all the rotted parts and I was in deep shock once I saw what he was telling me. I'm thankful that the cars strut was leaning on the inner fender frame preventing it from completely falling to the ground. I asked the mechanic how something like this could have happen and he explained that since we live in an area where it snows, the salt that is applied on the roads gets trapped into the slotted holes of the chassis and deteriorates with time. It is unknown of the time of which the chassis had begun rotting.

21 Body problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 07/20/2016

Driving on freeway at a cruise control speed of 70 mph without any warning lights or malfunctions with the truck, white smoke was noted from behind the truck. Smoke immediately became worse and truck was pulled off on side of road. Smoke was noted coming from under front hood as well. Driver then saw flames coming up driver side window. Driver ran from vehicle and it was consumed in fire. The whole vehicle was a fire bomb and destroyed. No injury was sustained by driver as of next day except to say shock and emotional trauma. Driver side door switch for safety recall of possible fire was done and serviced on April 2015. Truck was in the shop the previous day for a tie rod repair, oil change, and tire rotation. Mechanic said the truck looked in good shape without any problems noted on the vehicle. I have pictures on my phone of a ball of fire that was the truck.

23 Body problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 04/02/2016

Driver door does not close. We've had it in a few times for repair as the driver's door hinges were loose. I was told by my mechanic of 13 years that he will not be able to repair it again. The last repair did not hold long, just about a week. Then I brought it to our local chevy dealer for repair as the door would not close all the way and bounce around on bumps. I was told the chevy mechanic that they are not able to repair the door, that I can take it to the body shop. My parents were the original owners. Just through normal driving the door would loosen, and drop out of alignment. I have had the truck in for repairs a few times as well. I have heard from my mechanic and the chevy mechanic that this is not uncommon for this particular model and year.

Failure Date: 01/13/2016

While traveling westbound on 192 in osceola county between narcoossee road and nova road there were several barricades 4 to 5 inches in the traffic lane. I was in the left lane with the barricades over the yellow line on the left-hand side of the road. This took place at approximately 8:15 am while taking my children to schoo, during the morning time traffic. My vehicle struck a large round orange barricade on the left side of the vehicle. I attempted to maneuver and avoidance however I was traveling next to a semi and was unable to do so. As a result my vehicle now has a scratch on the left side. I then called dot to report the damages and to have the site investigated for future incidences. The company conducting the construction work is jr davis construction. There is not a pull off zone or a place I felt safe stopping to directly speak with an individual in charge. I travel this road several times a day and have never seen the barrel barricades in the road as they were this morning.

On August 26, 2015 we purchased a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer from wali's auto sales in enola, PA. It had 93,907 miles on it and appeared to be in good condition with a clean car fax. We traded in our 1996 Chevrolet suburban and received $1700 in trade in value purchasing the Trailblazer for $5722. 70 including tax and transfer fees. Brakes and ball joints had been replaced prior to our purchase along with a transmission line. We took the vehicle for an alignment as soon as we purchased it. We drove the vehicle approximately 200 miles and then on September 17th left home with intentions of driving the vehicle to stowe vermont. At 11:30 am on the morning of September 17th (approximately 2 hours into our trip) the vehicle lost power and brakes close to scranton, PA. The engine caught fire and within 7 minutes the vehicle burned up. The VIN number was not readable. The scranton fire department responded along with pennsylvania state police and the forty fort police. We have a copy of the fire report. The vehicle was towed by a local tow company. My wife and I escaped injury. We had liability insurance through state farm which covered towing and fire company expenses. Wali's gave us a 30 day warranty on the vehicle and has acknowledged since the incident that there is a warranty on the vehicle but is not forthcoming in allowing us to submit a claim to their insurance company.

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

On Saturday, August 1, 2015 at approximately 8:55pm my mother was involved in a 1 car accident on baum rd located in tallahassee, FL. She was the only passenger determined to be in the vehicle at the time of the accident. According to the crash report, d1 (driver one) was traveling westbound on baum rd going the normal posted speed of 55mph, when she veered towards the center of the rd and suddenly turned right veering of the right shoulder of the rd and striking several trees on the drivers side and front end. D1 was wearing her seatbelt and managed to exit out the drivers side window before coming to her final resting place on the shoulder of the rd. When I went to retrieve my mothers things from her Trailblazer, I noticed that no air bags had deployed. And as fast as my mom was going and the type of impact & damage her SUV sustained, I would think and hope the airbags would deploy in this type of accident, thus preventing serious injury or death. My mom was not so lucky, and myself and my family have endured great pain from loosing her so suddenly.

Driving I-85 north bound on the morning on 6/15/2015 headed to work when the rear passenger tire blew out causing my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer to cross over into another lane then back into the lane I was in, spin uncontrollable, all of a sudden the steering wheel started spinning and then the vehicle just shut down, steering wheel locks, the car comes to a stop and slams into a guard rail where I am facing south bound traffic, none of my air bags deploy, I have a neck and back injury that to this day I am still being treated for and my passenger who was a coworker riding to work with me that morning also had a back injury. My vehicle was deemed a total loss by insurance company could not be repaired, lost time from work, still have medical bills, occurring, although I have full coverage insurance but because it was a one vehicle accident there is nothing that can be done about loss wages. Just had these tires put on my truck about 6 months ago, heard about people passing these bad tires on as new tires , don't know if this is the case or not. Don't know why air bags did not deploy, don't know why steering wheel spin then locked up, thank god it was not worse! state trooper said it could have been worse from the way I landed.
